Let's stop spamming up other threads.

    What model truck? (RC/AC/DC)
    2WD or 4WD?
Tire and/or hearing different from stock?
    Bed cap or cover?
Just for fun, what octane gas?

    Go.

    Some junk
I'm thinking we need the year also and at least the altitude, if not the location.

Location/ altitude- Utah at around 5000-5200' above the drink

    What model truck? (RC/AC/DC)
    2006 double cab

    2WD or 4WD?
    4wd

Tire and/or gearing different from stock?
315/75/17 (about 35x12.5) bfg at with factory 4.10 gears. +3.5" width each side suspension with about 2-3" of lift in front and factor rear.

    Bed cap or cover?
    Nope

Just for fun, what octane gas? 87 which is our mid grade

Extra weight? Some recovery gear, 5-7 gallons each of water/fuel, and a pretty heavy front suspension.

    Performance parts?
Reusable dry filter(aem I think), magnaflow knockoff muffler dumped before axle, and intake tube rerouted to bumper(probably less flow than stock)

    Avg mph 14.5-15.5

    Tricks
. I lock out od quite a bit when I'm going between lights at less than 50. Saves the brakes and there's less gear searching. I also listen to classical music which calms the soul. I don't race to every light unless I'm really late or need to change lanes or what have you. It's not a rocketship so I pretend it's a gocart and carry momentum.

Type of driving- about 20-30% in town and the rest highway driving from 60-80mph. Mostly flat with regular wind.

    A pic for reference.

Can I just state that to me, the only thing that matters is what you average. At the end of the day, that's what we pay based off. Getting 18MPG for short bursts doesn't accomplish much. I'm adding my year also since some claim the 05-06's get better MPG.

Also, I don't believe your scangauge. Do the math at the pump.

Location-East TN. Mix of hills and flat roads.
What model truck? (RC/AC/DC) 2002 Access Cab
    2WD or 4WD? 4x4
Tire and/or gearing different from stock? 285/75/17 BFG K02's
Bed cap or cover? Cap-weighs roughly 150lbs
Just for fun, what octane gas? poor mans 87

Prior to moving to bigger tires I was getting around 15.5MPG with a mix of city and highway driving and lots of hills here in TN.

I'm averaging around 14.5 now. Calculated at the pump after filling up. I stay around 65mph on the interstate.

Good idea for a thread to include the specs. I'd also recommend including the calculation methodology.

Location/ altitude: Coastal South Carolina (generally less than 100 ft above sea level)

What model truck? (RC/AC/DC): 2005 Double Cab

    2WD or 4WD: 4wd

Tire and/or gearing different from stock: 275/70R17 (about 32x10.5) KO2s (E-Load) with factory 3.90 gears (I'm almost positive this is the only gear ratio for 05/05 DCs) on 4Runner alloys

Height/Suspension Mods: Rancho Quicklifts in the front (+2.25") and Rancho 1.5" block in rear

    Bed cap or cover: None

Just for fun, what octane gas: 87 (with an octane booster/fuel injector cleaner every now and then)

Extra weight: Some hand tools, hitch ball, and straps, etc. (Probably less than 100lbs)

Performance parts? K&N Drop-In Air Filter

Avg mpg: 13.8-14.2 (Basically 14 no matter what)

Driving Habits/ Notes: Mine is basically a fun truck/ weekend warrior...trips to the hardware store, hauling the kayak for fishing, taking the kiddo and family around town, dirt trails, trips to the dump, and road trips when hauling stuff, etc. Basic truck stuff, but not my daily so I don't tend to worry about mpgs too much. I do have a slightly heavy foot (and my kiddo likes to zoom!), and interstate travel around here is usually closer to 75 than 65. I don't use cruise control on the highway with larger hills...it's too aggressive on the downshift and it revs a lot if left on. Oh, and engine maintenance is pretty up to date in the last 10K (new plugs, new timing belt kit, and new drive belt and pulleys)

MPG Methodology: I will get about 275-ish until the light comes on. But I highway verified I travel 108 miles when the odo reads 100. So I add 8 percent to my mileage total before dividing by gallons. As noted, it's always around 14 (except towing when I got 9mpg at max weight w/ o/d off over lots of hills).

In town driving = at or close to the speed limit.
Highway Driving (not much) = 70-75mph
    Mpg (tank average) = 13

Oddly some 05-06 double cabs came with 3.62 gearso_O

I’ll post the mpg for my 06 later.

    3500 feet.

    87 gas

14.5 Average. Mostly highway at 70 MPH with 1/2 mile of what most people would call off road on every trip.

Once I got 15.5 but that is unusual.

Always running as light as possible at sea level on 285/75/r16s

    City/Hwy mix = 12-15 MPG.

Straight long trip HWY trips = 18-19 MPG.

    TOWING = 9-10 MPG.

I think the 4x2 was only 1 mpg better. adding larger/heavier all terrain tires and a lift kit will knock those estimates down 2-3 mpg:oops:

Lots of idle time along with ‘spirited’ driving due to 2 SeaFoam Spray manifold cleanings and some towing yields 11MPG City this week.

This coming week, I’ll granny the throttle and see what happens. My guess is 13.5 City (my usual city average).

Weighed out the truck today and its sitting at 4790lbs with 1/2 tank o’gas.

Haven't been watching a number of things with my ride in last few years, so I filled up today after plugs replacement, MAF/Throttle body cleaning and entered my numbers in the Fuelly app. We'll see where I fare next fillup !

I'm averaging around 12.5 now. Calculated at the pump after filling up. This is commuting to work 5 miles each way (ac always on)Not highway driving. When I was highway driving I was getting closer to 17.

    300 miles since last fill-up.

Not bad for mostly stop and go short commutes. 285/75/17 is a true 33 inch tire.

For my 285/75/R16 I’ve assumed plus 8% on my MPG.

You are probs around 13.5 city and 18.5 highway with the added %, which is about what I average.

Haven't you stated you spend most of your time over 3500 RPM's? I don't think there is any mystery here. :D

75mph+ on any v8 truck is gonna hurt mpg. On these trucks we’re pushing about 2300-2400 rpm at that speed with stock tires.

That's my shift point! And highway speeds are about 80. And 317k miles. Skid plates missing. Torn cv boot. Why is my mpg shitty!?
