I'm installing backup sensors on my 2019 CM. I know - a lot of people think they're stupid - especially when there's a perfectly good camera there to show you what your about to hit, but after having backup sensors for about 12 years, I just can't get used to not having them.

It seems like the kit I bought would be an easier install if I could locate the backup light power wire in the cab rather than in the bed of the truck. I read in one post that there's a purple wire on the passenger kick board for this, but can anyone please confirm the wire and location in the cab on a 2019 if it exists?

    Thanks.

Doesn't the backup camera turn on when you put it in reverse? Check that for 12v in park vs. reverse.

Hadn't thought about connecting to the backup camera wire. I guess I could do that behind the head unit if it works.

Sorry - does "Blue +" mean blue with a pin strip or something or is it just a blue wire? I've tapped into a wire here before to add the tailgate pop-n-lock so I'd be comfortable with this if I can find the correct wire.

    Thanks.

Thank you. I tried to work on it tonight and got the sensors installed but ran out of time to run the cable into the cab. Hopefully I'll be able to work on it again in the next day or two and find that wire.

There is a grommet in the floor in front of the back seat to go through.

OK, got the wires in the cab through the front passenger rubber grommet - where I had also run the pop-n-lock. Then there were two larger white plugs with blue wires under the kick plate. I first tried the lower of the two plugs on the larger of the two blue wires - nothing. Then I tried the upper plug and the larger blue wire and it worked! Funny, it's pretty intimidating in there with so many wires but thanks to sstoddard for getting me started in the right direction and then I was able to break it down to just a few wires to test.

    Thanks for the help!

Do you by chance know what gauge wire the blue wire is to tap it? Thanks in advance!

what sensor kit did you buy. My last truck, that I drove for 12 years, had them too. Just got use to them and they saved me from hitting a few things. They are really nice when you forget that you have a small trailer behind you. I was really disappointed when I realized that the pro didn’t come with them.
