Never been there! I'm sure we'll planning a road trip in the next year or so to check out a lot of suggestions.

You know - I've had the same desire for 20 years now. There's a lot of hate for Californians relocating to other states so I've held back on posting such a question. Thanks for asking the question and for the helpful comments by the fellow Tundra crew.

Top two on my list are Bend, OR and somewhere in Colorado - I've heard great things about Colorado Springs and I fell in love with the Rockies this summer.

Good luck with the move - I hope you get a lot of good input on here.

Right? My dad moved to Blanchard, Idaho from Washington. He said everybody he has met this year is from Cali. It's a massive exodus Im sure.

My whole family is from Texas. Mostly Lubbock area. Spent a lot of time there. I just paid 4.07 for gas and I shit you know my 2017 Tundra registration for one year was $756.00.

If I didn't live in Alaska I would be in Oregon. Love Hood River! Great fishing, hiking, camping, skiing in the winter, fresh produce ... close to a big city with cheap flights ... head east and you're in the desert, west and you are more forested, further west is the coast, north is Washington and great white water rafting, mount hood is to the south... pretty sweet spot imo

Yeah I feel ya. It's pretty funny. There is always a migration. In the early 70's it was to town centers which drove up prices and everybody fled to the country and foothills. IN the 90's it was the Bay Area migration due to the .com boom. Now NorCal seems to be influxes with SoCal people fleeing.

The bitch of it is prices go up, traffic goes up...yada yada. But I can't really blame people for trying to better their situation and applaud those that do. But the reality is I like small towns , Don't care about night life or Major sporting events. I just need some pizza places, a good burger, some decent places to spend time and get away. I absolutely fell in love with Ketchum but WAAAYYY priced out of that area.

Spent some time at Full Sail. Wife hated the constant wind in the canyon. But not too far out there were some beautiful places.

Meh, I tend to hang around people with like minded interests. For us it's more of a cost of living on a fixed income that we are planning for. There's wierdo's in every State.

Screw that dude, fuck the haters. Live your life. I get so much shit because I have a California Grown sticker in my center back window. Ignorant rednecks out here... I don't say anything because it's not worth a gunfight.

I hate this topic, but anyway, go where you want, but leave California in California. Most people are mad at Californians because we take our money and politics places where the locals don't want it. I'm guilty of this as well. The car I used to drive also had a California Grown sticker in the back window and it got egged after we bought the most expensive house in the neighborhood (not saying much; the neighborhood is "up and coming"). GO BACK was written in ketchup on the windshield. There were some boot prints on the hood. It's just ignorance though. I'm not sure if they were mad we bought the house, or mad about the sticker or just having a bad day.

So angry anytime people start talking about where they live... Relax a little... But stay out of our flyover states

There's shitty people everywhere. It doesn't matter where you live. Hell, Canada is full of them... :crapstorm:

That's why we like it here in SA. The heat keeps the snowbirds at bay. Temp is 96 today. Tomorrow will cool down to the mid 70s and back to the mid 80s later in the week. Probably 2 inches of rain over the past 60 days. Most of us cringe seeing a Kali plate rolling down I10 as we already see what has happened to Austin. We try to escort them to coon ass world.

Man that sucks. Everyone seems to find someone or something to hate and rally around. When I lived in Angel Fire, NM the amount of hatred for people from Texas and Oklahoma was crazy. When I lived in Tahoe people constantly complained about tourists and city-ots.
I hear about people from the the urban areas moving up to the foothills and changing things. I can tell you it's trying to listen to complainers. I've lived all over the west and just about every region in Cali. The constant is every place has changed and nothing stays the same. Some people can deal with it, others can't. The most glaring issue to me is being decisive and social media influences. Whatever. I drink a beer, go fishing, ride my bike, and enjoy my time with the family.... and of course buy mods for the Tundra and hang out on this site :)

Utah is a great place... plus, the beer law is changing and we will be able to drink normal beer soon (start of 2020).
