just picked up my new truck (Canada) and had 275/65/20 ko2's installed. No rubbing issues so far and it looks to me like they must have changed the skid plate because I don't see how the tires could rub on it.

Looks good. I'm glad to know that size will fit stock suspension. It is possible the skid plate was altered. Can you post a few picks with the wheels fully turned to show how close it is to the mud flaps?

I believe it is wider tires that would rub the skid plate. Those tires are about a 1/2' narrower than the OEMs on mine. They are about 1-1/2" taller.

I am Canadian and we use the metric system. A 275 tire is 275mm wide, regardless of the aspect ratio.

Have a look at the image below

I've read a lot before purchasing this size tire and a lot of people have rub issues on the skid plate.

I'll get more pictures at lock to lock next time I'm out

That’s the same width as stock.

Here in the U.S. we also use metric measurements for tires and I know how to convert them. The aspect ratio only comes in to play with diameter when converting. Maybe I should have mentioned that my OEMs are 285/55/20. This is why I said the 275s are narrower.

I’m here in the US too. The OEM tire size mine came with is 275/55/20. Maybe its bigger in TX.

I wonder if a 285/60/20 would fit then? That may rub the skid plate.

True, but difference is TSS version. I did not want 20s but BFGs were worth it to me because the TRD OR tires are shit

I read lots about the Dunflops when I had the Tacomas. Fortunately my last Tacoma was a Baja and had BFGs.

About 2+ inches taller than stock. Most speedos I've had are slower than gps speed, so usually larger tires put it closer to gps speed but in this case it's likely a little off

Yes and I love it!!! There’s no gear shifting issue or regear needed.

I replaced the engine skid plate with the RCI engine and skid plate. Definitely no rubbing. The OEM skid plate on the 19 had the “ears” on them which is totally different than the 2020.

Looks great. Was thinking about doing the same thing until i can convince the wife that these perfectly good, brand new stock rims really need to be replaced for some reason.;) How do you like the ride/noise of your ko2's so far?

@Mike19. So the 19's plate definitely needs to be trimmed a little then to accommodate this size?

I had ko2's on my 4runner I traded in for 3 years and on my Tacoma for about a year. They are quiet and work great year round. I use my Tacoma in the woods for work and they are great. All have been load range E.

I'll look again at my skid plate, but when I checked earlier today I don't see how the tires could rub on it. The tires would hit the sway bar imo before anything else

You don’t necessarily have to trim it. You can bend it inward.

I put the same tires on my Sport (2018, stock) over the weekend  No rubbing so far! I did bend the skidplate "wings" ahead of time. The tires feel just fine on the streets... have yet to spend time on the freeways and offroad. And still need to compare speedo to radar to see how much that's changed.

LOL! I hear ya brotha (I love Canada), Canadians are some cool people too. Texas is cool, just don't care for how they look down and criticize other States.

Nope, neither direction, forward or reverse. Haven't tested it on inclines/articulation yet...
