    Good Morning all,

My last tundra was a 2008 XSP which I sadly had to sell in 2012. With the new 1794 I have a quick question is the sway bar a good mod? Does it make the truck handle better curbs mountains? I use this truck mostly for long family trips to TN

Yes the sway bar is a great addition. It is one I wished I had done a long time ago.

I think it makes it handle better.

Keeps it flatter for sure in the curves. Every little bit helps but it’s still truck. Yet... I did put one on my platinum.!

I think it's a worthy addition, but definitely temper your expectations a little. It makes it a little more controlled feeling in corners, but it's not a night/day type difference, either. You're not going to put the sway bar on and think to yourself "wow, this is like a totally new truck!".

Yes...reduces body roll significantly...I did the front one too. Great mod. Some guys bitch about it and say it “stiffens” the ride...I have done sways on several different applications and have never felt it stiffened the ride on any of them.

For me it is mod #1. You will not be disappointed. Easy to do yourself. Be 1000% sure you get all of the bolt torque specs in advance. There's one connection that the factory has at just over 100 lb-ft.

I agree with @Crunch527......I felt no stiffening either, and I run both as well. The handling improvement is noticeable especially if you have to do a quick lane change at 80 MPH.

Here is the installation for the rear. I'm still looking for the front.

I installed a rear sway bar and noticed a great improvement in handling corners/curves. No off-roads use.

I disagree completely. Add the sway bar. Run some E's and you can corner with the best of them. I leave people following me too close all the time in the curves. Add it all and drive her in deep....... :)

Just be careful, when it turns loose, it turns all the way loose.

The one thing the sway bar does that most people do not like is the bar will make your truck a little "jittery" over uneven roads. Its the sway bar limiting the travel of the rearend. You get uneven roads and it feels a little weird. Since I've added my Monomaxs.... Its almost gone completely... but it is definitely worth it.

Looks like a Rear TRD sway bar will be first major addition. I'll ask my dealer about cost. If it's more than Amazon.ca, I'll get them to match and install with my free service credit to use that up.

It'll be for city drivng and towing a 4k lb trailer in the summer. Seems like it is universally agreed upon as being a Must Do mod.

How often do you go offroad? If not very often/never and offroad performance isn’t an issue for you go for it. It’ll improve on road handling.

If you offroad frequently, it’s the last mod I would do. I personally don’t run front or rear swaybars on either of my vehicles and don’t have body roll issues driving mountain passes, even when I’m towing or hauling a bed full of stuff. My Tundra rides a whole lot smoother on road now without the front swaybar as well.

No rear sway bar here either and no issues at all. I am also not racing this truck full speed through turns with a camper shell on. :D

Like mine immensely. It makes it much better on curves and such like flyovers in Houston.

I can't stand body roll especially when I'm the passenger.

I live in Tennessee in a rural area and lots of curves.I put the solid TRD rear sway bar on my 13 SR5 Crewmax and now it handled amazing! Before the sway bar I had a lot of body lean. Now it plants solid in the turns and solid on high speed lane changes on the interstate. You won't be disappointed!!

Did you do the rear before the front? Reason I ask is what was different after changing the front. I'm satisfied with the rear but always need a reason to piss away more money on my truck

I did rear first then my wife made me buy the front. Once I added the front the truck flattened out and turning corners was way more responsive @7.62Tundra

Anyone live in an area where the sway bar improved handling in snow/icy conditions? I'll be running studded tires this winter but was wondering if the sway bar would improve traction?

    Tastefully enhanced...
You will whip the tail out more often with the rear sway bar...BUT, as another fellow AK man, your driving will not be hindered...just perfected!

Getting ready to pull the trigger on a rear sway bar. Two questions, does anyone know of a price break anywhere and has anyone gone with a different model other than the TRD sway bar. If so, why?

When I purchased my rear and front TRD sway bars, the cost of installation was included in the quoted price.

Yup, same as here in Canada.

The Front is listed as $239.98cad and the Rear $502.97cad...including Toyota installation and warranty.

I'll be adding the Rear in March when we go for our first service and possibly the front too, we'll see. Hopefully my $500 service credit will cover the Rear (and part). If not, I'll have them give me a breakdown of part cost/install price and buy both parts and have them installed them with the credit. Either way, I want to eat up that credit so I can start taking it to my Mechanic after the first few years free service is up.

Don’t forget TRD now makes the red TRD front Sway bar that upgrades the factory front one. That way you can look and handle good in reverse as well as in drive, it’s a coming and going thing.
