I’m looking to add a power source for my dash cam parking “shock” feature. (Starts recording if it senses movement)

Where did you guys use an add a fuse link?

My cam has a power reserve built in and will come on automatically to record. Yours doesn’t have that?

It does have an internal battery but they recommend a hard wire kit. Plus it will declutter my console of a plug in

I don’t think you need a true add-a-fuse (dedicated fuse) for this application, your dash cam shouldn’t require much power. I’m not sure of where/what exactly what a shock sensor is, but I do have a dash cam in front of my windshield mirror that records while the truck is parked. It’s wired into a power source in the ceiling. I’d assume they tapped into the dome light wiring as I’m pretty sure it’s operational without keys and when you open door (24/7 power), and hopefully they put a fuse in-line on the red wire powering it.

Thanks. Shock sensor is a built in gimmick that just starts recording if the truck is bumped or detects movement.

I just installed a viofo a129 with hardwire kit. tapped "dome" for constant parking mode, and p/outlet 2 for acc. working great so far.

I have a Kenwood DRV-410, I hard wired it into the wires inside the upper console, I was able to get both constant and switched power but don't remember the colors.

I have a blackvue 2 channel dash cam. I used their hardwire kit. I used the add a fuse and and used the fused panel next to the steering wheel.
