What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

More towing duty. Dropped my Mustang off at a buddy's shop to have aluminum heads, roller rockers, intake manifold, custom intake & larger MAF, valve covers and headers all installed.

This group of 1st gen guys though is the whole reason I’m on this forum and what helped me fall in love with my Tundra!

Gotta say you 1st gen guys are 1000 times more helpful with stuff then any other gen group on his forum.

Thought some more about selling mine. I’d prefer a larger truck. Used to have an 04 Titan. Found one locally that’s exactly like I used to have. Probably going to go ahead and list it for sale soon.
I’ll probably end up wishing I’d keep the Tundra.

Got my hood back from paint, guy said he had to go down to 80 grit to get all the old clear coat off it was so caked on. Turned out absolutely awesome.

 

Frustrated at the moment. I just realized i dont post in here much because i get logged out all the time! Then when i go to reset password its sends me a new password for some reason. Then in a few days im logged out again and i dont remember what the random password they sent me was so i have to do it all over again. How do i just make my own password and keep using that one? It might be weird that im the only one with this problem but its finally gotten to the point where i had to ask. It really makes no sense to me that i cant just use one password and keep that one! I must be missing something, but im so damn frustrated! Thanks ahead of time!

I came from a Titan before I got my tundra. Titan has the power and the room and mine was loaded so the interior was miles above what I have now. On the bright side I get slightly better mpg with my tundra with 35s compared to the Titan and 33s. Other than that I kinda miss my Titan honestly. Both trucks drive kinda like cars but even with my long travel front end the tundra still feels less bulky. I guess it's the body size or something. Hard to explain but the Titan felt more like a boat in my opinion. Eithi truck can be pretty awesome. I think Nissan really did a good job on the Titan besides the early rear axle, brakes, and every year having manifold leaks. Oh and the paint issues. I had to re shoot the clear on my roof.

 

Yeah. I like my Titan a lot. Just had to sell it years ago for financial reasons. The Tundra I have now was passed down to me from my father in law for a good deal. It’s just not really the truck I want. It’s in good shape. Less then 100k miles. I just prefer a bigger truck. I have a company vehicle so my truck is my weekend got. Mileage isn’t an issue.

I’ll probably list my Tundra soon. I’m sure I could get $10-12k for it pretty easy around here. Trucks sell fast.

If I could afford it I’d be buying a new TRD Pro. Buuuuut that’s a $50k truck. I can get the Titan I want for a 1/3 of that. That’s a big chunk of change. Hard to justify a $700 payment on something I drive once a week.

had to 'borrow' my Tundra back from the mechanic Tues. to take it to get it's biannual emissions inspection. Glad I double checked the date due! Tundra passed with no issues. Then took the Tundra with it's leaking fuel lines back to the mechanic to await parts.
LOL - emissions only cares about what comes out the tailpipe - emitting raw unburned fuel in the engine bay is okay.

 

Yeah the angled reflection makes it look worse in person its like 90% perfect which is good enough for me haha. I have my bug/rock guard that I am going to put back on I just need to get to there store for some 3M double sided tape.

 

Life is short...get what you want if it's not a financial burden. Is your Tundra a 4x4? $10-12K seems cheap to me for a 2006 Tundra CC 4x4 with less than 100K miles...at least around here....where are you?

 

Got a dash matt, I wouldn’t recommend Dash covers of Az. Fitment was terrible all around, drivers side is tucked between the dash 2 inches and I can get the passenger side tucked(which I shouldn’t have to)

Its 4x2. For a lot of people that’s not what they want. But in reality most people don’t really need 4x4. I’ve never needed it.

It’s in good condition. Inside is real clean. My father in law used it as a work truck so it has some songs on the tailgate. Couple scratches on the body but I bet a good detail would clean up those. Over all it’s in fine shape. I’m getting the timing belt and WP done in the next week or two. Pretty much all stock with the exception of a nice pioneer radio with Bluetooth and usb.

Probably have a chat with my wife and see how she feels about it.
If I could get more the $12k for it that would seal the deal really. But it all depends on what someone is willing to pay for it really.

They do the sniffer test in your state. They just plug in the obd2 port, check codes, and do a visual inspection in Utah

Still squeaky. Still no lift. I made my peace with it though. I'll eventually get new leaf packs.

Anyways, heres a couple shots from a recent trip up the 395 in California. Might be going up again soon as all the trees are getting full of fall colors!

Front bumper and grill still has to be painted. But he’s shooting for Friday/Saturday for it be done. Just depends on how some of his insurance jobs go first
