    Got a few questions:

    1) What are the two bulbs I have circled in red for? One is near the hazard switch (on the left side of the picture) and the other is in the middle of the bottom of the center dash (towards the top in this upside-down view of the cluster).

It's daylight, so I can't see anything obvious, but I'm fairly sure the hazard-adjacent one is not for the hazard switch (and it isn't for the Cargo Lamp switch for sure). The other one isn't near anything at all...

I also think both of my existing bulbs - 74s with green condoms - were burned out, so maybe tonight when it gets dark it will be obvious from the glow of the new red LEDs I put in there.

    2) Can I unplug the Airbag indicator and switch wiring harness (green arrow) without it blowing up in my face? Also the white connectors on both sides, without causing problems?

    3) All of which leads me to my main question: how can I access the bulbs for the AC, Recirc, 4WD buttons? Not the knobs that turn, but the buttons that get pushed.

I kinda assume the answer to #3 might be obvious if I separate the white bit pictured from the main trim bezel thing, but I can't really seem to do that without disconnecting the airbag stuff, hence question #2.

    1) those 2 bulbs you mention....one on left lights up my Cargo Lamp words and Rear window defrost symbol, one in midle bottom lights up 2WD/4HI and 4LO words.
My 2004 DC does not have that plug so I can't help there but it does look like you could still remove the screws to white plastic shell and ease it over the Airbag indicator/switch wiring harness ?

Ok now I feel like an idiot. I was so focused on the indicator bulbs (the little dots) that I didn't even think about the words. Weird how we see what we want to see and disregard the rest.

I do think I can ease the white part around the airbag stuff, yes. I would need to disconnect the white plugs, but I don't really see a danger to doing that, so next time I have it all apart I'll give that a go.

    Thanks for your help!

Idiots are for those that don't ask or something like that :)

The "indicator bulbs(the little dots)" are a bitch to change but doable !

You'll be better served unplugging those 2 bottom cables, removing plastic shell and then replacing the bulbs. I would then plug the 2 cables back in before replacing shell in order to make sure you got the LED's in properly since they are polarity sensitive.

Also while minor, you will have to reset your clock :)
