I bought a set of LED replacement bulbs. Did the swap on a Tacoma I used to have and they looked great so I decided to do it on my Tundra. I pulled out the left map light bulb and put the LED in but no light. Knowing the polarity thing, I pulled the LED bulb out and rotated it 180 and pushed it back in. I did not use a lot of force but noticed the bulb would not seat properly and was barely in there. I pulled the bulb out to look and it seems the copper contacts the bulb slides into are, for lack of a better way of putting it, jacked up. Like they have been pushed/bent out of position. I'll try to take pictures in the morning. The added benefit is that now the right map light as well as the dome light do not work either. So, I have a dark truck when I open the doors. How hard is it to replace the metal contacts that hold the bulb?

Can you get some needle nose pliers and bend them back?

I tried that and you need to take the console apart. It’s easy...

Thanks for the link. I kept searching here for 'map light' but that one wasn't showing up in my results for some reason. And yes, I fought with it a bit with needle nose pliers trying to get it back to normal but then I thought "Eh, I'm just going to end up making this worse, let me stop and hop on Tundras.com and see what I can do". And is it normal for all the interior lights to be out now? Seems like a poor design that I've also lost the dome light. I'll need to double check the fuses also I guess to make sure I didn't screw something up there.... all this to try to put in LED bulbs... :(

Check the fuses, but when I changed out interior lights and the map light got messed up the other light functions did not change.
Hope you find a simple fix!

hmm, thanks. Yeah, left map light is the one I screwed up but also lost right map light and dome. All other electrical seems fine. It was getting late so I didn't check fuses. Guess that's my project after work today.

7.5 amp fuse is what you may want to check, and if need replacing, be sure to get the right one...

Did you check the polarity of the right light? Like Monet said, the others should still work. When I changed out mine to led I had to play with the dome lights for a good while before I got them to work.. The little copper wires on the bulbs were wonky and I had to stick them in just right. Same with the driver side footwell light, that tiny thing was a PITA. Also, double check your interior light button isn't set to off. I hit that button accidentally once and it took me way too long to figure out why my lights weren't coming on.

Thanks, yeah, I've checked all of that. Including the interior light button. It is in the middle at 'Door' and nothing happens with any of the lights when I open the door. I also switched it to 'on' and nothing happens either. Hopefully that part of the problem is just a fuse.

Thanks for the proposed solutions. I did the exact same thing!
