Hood decal

I hate being "that guy" starting a new thread. In my defense though, I have searched high and low looking for a link to the black hood decal for the center of my hood. I saw one @sean266 linking to toytec but no luck on website. Does anyone have a link?

 

Maybe @DecalsByDesign can help you, but idk if he doing anymore work

 

Thanks, just looked and he has closed shop for now it looks like. Local shop around here wants $250. Ridiculous.

Saw an f250 today that had an insert like that but it was and american flag, it looked badass

 

Yeah, I am seeing several American flag designs for the Tundra. They are definitely badass.

I bought the TUNDRA hood bulge decal on Ebay for $25. (Nice, but very thin vinyl)

The hood decal was $160 installed at local sign shop. (Thicker more durable vinyl)

 

That looks good. My only concern is being able to easily remove it when it needs replacing. Not sure if thicker vinyl would be harder to remove or not. Thoughts?

 

Little bit of heat with a heat gun should remove either one easily. Just don't scorch your paint!

The better the vinyl the easier it will be to come off. Make sure it has a uv coating. Cheap vinyl will take forever to come off as it will delaminated.

 

Will come off pretty easily with low temp heat gun.

Looks like good vinyl. My eyes have been opened and I am getting educated on vinyl. This is a great forum. Thanks to all for the help.

 

3M vinyl is the way to go

 

It is the lowest quality wrap film you can buy. And the company itself has by far the worst customer service I've ever heard of. Their poster boy is an asshole.

My top 3.

1. Avery SW900
2. 3M 2080 (New)
3. Cheetah Wrap (Wraps only.

3M vinyl has been mediocre at best until they released a new material last week. It's colors are great but the material was lacking a lot of what others had. I am yet to work with 2080 but from what I've seen and heard it is a huge step up.

 

Any ideas on the dimensions of the vinyl? I can cut up to 12" x 24" but from looking that might not be big enough.
