The leather part, or the plastic? Either way, I don’t know of much that’s going to help. There’s a Meguair’s product for the plastic called Plastx that does ok, but not great. For the leather, I’d just use some leather conditioner and see if it helps.

Maybe sanded. Don’t think a polisher would do anything. How long has it been on there?

You can try and smooth it out, but I don’t know how well it will work. If you want to just remove it, use lacquer thinner. It’s safe on the clear coat.

I tried it on the red Tundra and screwed it up pretty bad. I still need to go back and fix it. That shits not as easy as it looks.

Ahh I'm not gonna go so far as to remove it. This was the dealers attempt to fix that spot I blew off with the pressure washer. I'll be calling the service manager next week.

That's pretty sad dealer work. Definitely needs to be wet sanded, more coats, wet sanded, clear coat, wet sand....you get it. That wasn't a touch up paint kinda job.

So I just tried Adams Polishes new glass ceramic coating kit and it left a lot to be desired. Followed the directions on the kit to the T and regardless of what I did or tried could not get a streak free finish. To give some more info I cleaned the glass, clayed the glass, then cleaned the glass again before applying the step A and B wipes. Applied both steps within the time frame and when wiping the product off with the supplied towels from Adams and using the glass cleaner like they stated the product still streaked. M question is can I use carpro eraser on the glass to get the Adams product off?

I think eraser should remove pretty much any leftover product

Alright, I know this has been asked before but I didn't get a clear answer. What do you guys recommend for protecting my wheels? I tried waxing them with disastrous results. I just want to coat them with something to protect the finish. When I check previous posts, there seems to be some debate on which product to buy.

    thanks

In theory, I guess it works very well. A lot of guys do either rinseless or waterless washes, but I'm too old school for that. I'd only consider it during the winter months when my outside water is off, but the truck is way too dirty for either of those approaches. I've even gone away from the 2 bucket method, and have opted for one bucket/multiple wash mitt method...thats how paranoid I am about introducing scratches/marring.

I was thinking of trying it, but was wondering at what level of dirty is it no longer wise to do the Garry Dean and to just go old school. Maybe a simple pre-rinse would help, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having minimal setup.

That’s pretty much what I do. Just use a ton of towels. Nothing touches the paint again until it’s been through the washer. Pretty much one pass per side of the towel. This is only doable if you have a ton of them though.

You can do some pretty dirty vehicles with this method, except you have a black truck. With black, it needs to not have any caked on stuff whatsoever.
I actually do more rinseless washes than I do normal ones. I usually do it really often though, so it’s generally not bad. If its dirtier than I’m comfortable with, I’ll run it through a touchless wash that’s on my way home. If I’m already home, I’ll just bust out the pressure washer and do a full on wash.

I still never go two bucket though. One pass per side of the towel, then it goes in the laundry. Nothing ever touches the paint twice.

Nothing caked on, just dust from being parked for a few weeks. (Steering rack still needs to be replaced :()

When you do a pass with a clean towel, are you lifting while passing? I think I saw one of his latest videos and he wasn't lifting, as if no fear of scratching the paint.

I do a kind of rolling motion with the towel, like at 5:30 in this video. It may not be necessary, but it gives me a feeling that I’m not dragging any crud on the paint. By the way, this product is probably the safest rinseless wash, but it is messy and takes a TON of towels to use. I just remembered him using a similar motion at that point, though he doesn’t for the most part.

A friend of mine just picked up this old F250 and asked me to help him detail it.

My question is, what can we use on the wheels? I don't have an close up shots but he said he tried cleaning them and whatever is on there won't come off. Would Iron-x do it?

    Capture+_2019-10-07-15-15-57.jpg

He asked if we could claybar it and I told him no. He only keeps his vehicles for a year max. No way I'm spending all day claying this beast only for him to get rid of it.

IronX may help some, but probably not much. You could try some wheel cleaner with acid.

I checked my bottle yesterday. It says “plastic and wheels” on the box. I haven’t used it, but it’s what I’ve heard recommended the most.
