First of all I have found several write ups on the forum about the anytime fog light mod, but none of them seem to be as simple as the one I did to my 09 Tacoma.

On my Tacoma all I did was bend up a terminal on the fog light relay and run an add a fuse wire to an ignition switched power source. 30 sec and I was done.

I'm just a big baby who doesn't want to alter or cut anything.

Come on tundra owners, who will make this work

Clever. Seems like that should work. The tundra relay gets its ground from the BCU (fog relay pin #2), when the foglight switch is turned on. It gets its coil power from the tail-light relay (fog relay pin #1). Seems like running pin 1 to an ignition source instead, would be just the ticket.

I did the same thing when I had my 06 Tacoma. it would be nice if this mod would work for the tundra.

If I could turn my fog lights on with the headlights off, so same as the DRLs, I'd do that in a heartbeat. It has their own on and off, why not make it work that way without turning the full headlights on.

so, what we could do if this is a possiblity, is wire in a jumper from the power prong of the fog light relay to the DRL fuse. That way, whenever the DRLs come on, if you choose, you could have the fog lights on as well. I think the DRLs stay on as long as the truck is on, right? I cant remember if they stay on with headlights or not, but I think they do.

I think so, but they are also the blinker. Would that interfere with the fog light? Humm. Maybe not since that is not its function, it's just bypassing the power on.

So the directional wires are separate from the DRL wires if you look behind your headlight. But either way, I'm talking about tapping the jumper wire from the fog relay into a fuse. So I'm thinking the DRL fuse should be good...

You'd think more people would have done this already to chime in. Has to be something simple. All you need to do is supply constant power to it and use the on/off on the steering column. Or so you'd think.

Yeah, I'd want ignition power though so I don't forget about them and kill my battery all the time... If I knew what prong on the relay I need to tap I'd do it right now and report back. Let me do some digging...

Yeah, that's what I meant. Power when the truck is on. Ok, let us know.

I looked at the fuse box the other day, and it is the same relay as the Tacoma has. The issue I am having is what fuse to tap into... I want the fogs to come on with ignition, just like DRL, but I'm hesitating to tap the DRL circuit because idk how it is effected when the headlights come on... idk what to do. I don't want them to come on with parking lights because as soon as I turn my parking lights on my NAV goes into night mode and you can't see it during the day.

Just sucks that you get rid of the functionality of your fog lights though wouldn't you? I mean they're on when the key is on, and I'm not sure if the switch on the stalk would still work

Just passed a guy going the opposite direction on the highway who had his DRLs and fogs on only. So has to be a way. One of those times you wish you could flag a guy down to ask, ha.

Well with the way the mod everyone does you can do that too. Since our DRL's are our parking lights. The issue for people like me is that I don't want to drive around with my NAV in night mode all the time because it goes into night mode when you turn on the Parking lights...

So by tapping this relay, is your switch on the stalk still functional... Or, is it useless and the fogs are always on?

If it works like the Tacoma, switch still works. The mod just makes you able to turn on the fogs with parking lights instead of needing headlights to be on

The Tacoma mod is so much easier and you get the same result... just need someone to Guinea pig it for us...

I think the above posted is how I did it on my 2013. I forget. I did it 2 years ago. Was a little bit of a pain IIRC just because of the small length of wires you work with. I wish it was as simple as it was on my Tacoma but it was pretty easy.

I certainly could be wrong, but with the number of people who come from Tacos to Tundras if the same process would work I would think by now someone would have done it already and that would be the widely used method for doing so. Who knows.

Yes, the switch on the stalk still works too. While I was at it, I unceremoniously chopped the amber drl. I cut the drl wire at the back of the bulb (purple I think). The turn signals work fine but no more amber drl. I've got the led drl strip in my headlights and though the amber was redundant.
