G-Tek Fab SABM ?

G-Tek Fab SABM (stock air box mod)
Anyone done this or heard of it?
Going to be putting bigger tires on, looking at anything that could save some MPG's

 

There's a few threads on this mod. But not much has been confirmed if it actually helps N/A engines or if it helps with bigger tires.

 

I did this to my truck with my own parts and did some controlled tests. I first cut the holes with out installing the tube. I noticed more low end power when cold outside but no difference in mpg's. Installed the tube and didn't notice a difference, replaced the filter with an AFE dry filter and lost .5 mpg hwy. from 20mpg driving like an old lady down to 19.5 with stock suspension and wheels/tires

Good to know, I'll leave it as is than, not broke no need to fix it.

 

I have it on mine and seemed to help for a little while but I would not recommend it.

 

I did it to mine. So hard to say. It certainly didn't hurt anything in regards to low end TQ or MPG.
It's a pretty cheap mod too but idk if id do it again. Just don't see much. It does make it sound cooler though.

 

Yep, anything you do to the air box will change where you are getting torque in the power band. You will loose low end tq for sure. There isn't a better setup than the stock box and paper filter... Not that's proven anyway.
