Got bored waiting on orders @BAMuffler and @Roman for next projects. Started chrome delete project and a can of plastidip was screaming my name. What can I say. At least I didn't spray my door handles or mirror covers. Toyota of Cool Springs better hurry with my order though.

Never know when you might need a charged up flashlight. Might as well start filling up the cavern, I mean center console with something.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. :)

    No worries. :)

The black badges look good. I took my chrome platinum ones off awhile back and had them painted matte black at the body shop. But I’ve yet to put them back on. I kinda like how clean it looked without any, especially since the Platinum version has less overall badges anyway.

Washed her then tackled the dash cam. I wasn’t getting power to it or the drivers side seat.
    fuses were intact
Took apart the dash, and realized I didn’t secure the ground wire back when I installed the remote start. All fixed :)

Too many things below I copied from other tundras.com teammates, so not worthy of an original "build" page. But imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?

Finally got everything pretty much the way I want; this was the last of multiple weekends working on the Tundra. I should've been thankful for the blessing that is my truck and left it alone after I bought the polished aluminum running boards; the set-up didn't look too bad at all with the chrome that was already on the truck. But then I heard beckoning calls from the ether which turned out to be tundras.com demons  chanting "Ia! Ia! Ia! Join! Mod! Spend! Mod! Come to the Black!". And I did, turned my back on chrome, and embraced the darkness. Just gonna wait on these factory tires to give up the ghost, then I'll move up in size and buy some A/T's, and also will get suspension upgrades a couple of years down the road. Overall, I'm as close to a "happy place" that a tundras.com member can be. But I still hear some background chanting..."buy more, buy more"...:eek2:

First, the starting point. The only thing I had done to it at this point was installed a stubby antenna and the polished aluminum running boards:

I removed the rubber step pads and took the running boards and them Line-X'd. The rubber step pads were affixed to the running board by a rib on the bottom of the pad that fit into a channel in the board, with rivets on each end. With the Line-X coating, the shop said the rib probably wouldn't squeeze back in. When I got the running board back, even my wife said "it looks good enough without the rubber step pad." It bugged the shit out of my OCD though. I put the pads over top the boards and started hammering away with a rubber mallet, and lo and behold they fit! Went to the local AutoZone and picked up some push-type fasteners to go into the rivet holes. I think they look great:

I also bought black badge overlays, mirror covers, and matching handles from Sparks. I took the Limited grill, surround, and bulge to a buddy that owns a buddy shop...bulge and surround white, grill black. Used VHT primer and black VHT paint for my Toyota exhaust tips. I had previously installed two LED bars behind the grill, one in the bumper, and one in the bulge. Put on the front bumper cap covers from ecoological.com. Threw in some Tuffskinz knockoffs from Amazon; white trim to match. Plastidipped the rims. This weekend culminated in a wash, rub-down with a Nanoskin Mitt, reapplication of Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax (previous application beaded well for about 4 months...good by me), and first two coats of Beadmaker. The Meguiar's HCW was shiny enough, but holy moly, Beadmaker takes reflection to a whole different level. It's hard to see in a white truck, but hopefully you'll be able to see below how reflective it is. It's been so much fun arriving to this point, and getting to know some great people. So, here's the finished goods:

What kind of paint did you use on the wheels? I’ve got the cheesy plastic chrome platinum wheels on my 15. Looking at buying a set second hand of the limited wheels and doing the same black finish.

Drove it to the beer store, and filled up with gas. Then drove back to the Dollar General for charcoal. Sway bar didn't come in as expected for my fun weekend project.

Bought my truck used about a month ago. I noticed it had to brass colored fittings on each side of the license plate. Didn't think anything of it until I was crawling around underneath it today. Turns out it has a Firestone airspring kit installed. I had no idea lol.

Not mechanically inclined whatsoever so I'll need to consult an expert on that one. But everything appeared to be mounted solidly. Just read up on them and found out the need to keep a minimum of 5psi. I need to check on that.

Seems like I’m changing wheels every weekend, but today I put some Pro wheels on. They don’t photograph well, but look pretty awesome in person!8BFA16DB-1046-4F08-91BA-E1F5302004BD.jpg
