I know, I know, I’m one of the losers that doesn’t change his own oil but I’m getting rigged up.

Question is, what are you guys paying for an oil change? I’m hearing around $130 here in west Texas.

In Utah at Karl Malone Toyota they charged me $175 for 3 oil changes within 2 years period. No tires rotation.

Most dealers around here are around $90 for oil, filter, and tire rotation.

    Bingo.

Oil change staff are OFTEN the youngest, least diligent, most careless people in the shop. It’s so hit or miss.

It’s a fairly easy job after you’ve done it once. And so much peace of mind.

Toyota dealer here charges $90ish, but they usually have a coupon floating around for about 30% off.

Change my own here. Hit Walmart for Mobil 1 0W20. I always buy the 5 quart jugs on sale for $22.88. Truck takes 8 quarts, so I get two jugs. Filters about $7. Total for do it yourself is looking to be about half of what you all who go to dealers are paying. Just my two cents worth here. Worst part of the job is removing and replacing the front skid pan. Just takes a couple minutes to remove and is a pain to line up to reinstall, but it is minor mechanical work for most folks

I’ve been paying $100 for an oil change. Rotate is $30. Think I need to find a better deal.

Sorry fellas but I’m old school. My dad taught me to get your hands dirty and do your work. I pay for my oil and oil filter and rotate my own tires. Takes me an easy 30 minutes.

When I was younger I changed my oil but now it's not worth the hassle. $60 on record with platinum warranty. Also the free bees with Starbucks, hot coco, cookies, pie, pop, popcorn, internet, pickup/drop off and not getting harassed by kids, wife and dogs.

I worked as a tech at a Mazda dealership in the late 80's and always took pride in my work despite the ridiculous flat rate we got paid. I always wondered why this guy in the bay next to me always seemed to have all this free time on his hands, till i saw the lower drawer of his toolbox filled with unused oil filters he never installed on his customers cars. I can only imagine what else he neglected. Call me crazy, and even-though i have this special for a few oil changes for my new truck,...Will do it myself. I'm sure that Toyota techs out there are honest guys, and i mean no disrespect, but i feel more confident doing it myself, and knowing that it was done right.

the Toyota oil monkeys at my dealership were not honest. I could write a book it was so bad. They don’t see my vehicles anymore.
But, to answer the question I believe they were around 80 dollars and 2 hours of my time.

Yup, $60 is a "no brainer" for not having to remove the skid plate and having oil run down my arm and the clean up and getting rid of a bunch of waste oil and better yet not having to wade through a bunch of welfare bums and tweakers at Walmart to buy motor oil. Yeah, I'll pay the $60 and "thank you very much".
