Anyone running a set of these wheels? I am considering a set, and any feedback appreciated from those that own a set. May bump up to a 285-70-17 Nitto terra grappler tire.
Dealer is offering to buy my stock Platinum wheels and tires and discount the a package set on these TRDs. Would you buy them again? Pros, Cons? There expensive at 1600.00 a set.

Feedback from owners...does the finish stand up to normal use. i believe the polished areas are clear coated...Any balancing issues or vibs?

    Thanks!

I may be a little biased here but my buddy who has a 2011 rock warrior just replaced those wheels with some fuel wheels because the finish was peeling

Interesting.....is he a member on here and can he post up his thoughts as an owner? Would like to hear what his experience was like? This is one of Toyotas top of the line OEM forged wheels. Would love to see a few pics of his wheel finish peeling problem. Thanks for the heads up!

I decided to punt on the ebay Toyota TRD style wheels....I was told they are lug centric not hub centric. Lug centric can present serious issues with wheel bearings long or even short term to include steering wheel vibs etc...good looking wheel no doubt, I just wish they were hub centric and or OEM.

My dealer made me a attractive offer on my stock wheels and tires swapping them out for brand new Nitto Tera grappler 285/70/17s and wrapped in these rims....still undecided.

Anyone own a set of these TRD forged rims and can provide a review with photos?

    Thanks!

Any of the guys with the Rockwarrior package (available 2010-13 IIRC) has those wheels. IMO they're quite desirable since they're the only 17 I know of that fits around the calipers on the 2nd/3rd gen Tundras.

Thanks Relentless...I appreciate the thoughts and feedback. You are right, fitment is critical, hence I have been pursuing the OEM wheel route to avoid any phantom vibs, shakes, shimmies. I really think the gunmetal gray inner hub/spokes will work well on Silver Sky Metallic.

If you mount a set, be sure to post pics and tag me. As I said, been considering a set myself along with blacked out rings on them, think they'd look real nice on my truck but I havent seen a silver '14 with them.

    Hello again,

Sorry he is not a member on here and his oem wheels are sold...I did ask him and he said there was a clear coat on the outer rim that was peeling and the rim itself was corroding. We do get a lot of salt up here in NH, and I don't know if he used harsh chemicals to clean the wheels...he never had any vibration issues or anything like that. It's a really nice looking wheel no doubt! I figured I was rolling the dice with the replica wheels, but no issues yet knock on wood! I like to live dangerously lol! Also the replicas are a 9" wheel so there are more tire options.
The oem's are 8". Definitely more peace of mind with the oem's!

Will do Relentless! Thanks again for your feedback. I like the TRD gunmetal gray wheel and the contrast against the Silver sky metallic paint.

Here's mine, I PC'd the rings like a lot of people do so no issue there. If you look close you can see where the center cap is peeling a little, I just need to pull them off and derp them just haven't had time to do it.

Hey Jeremy, they look great! Is that the silver rim or gunmetal gray, those look great with your MGM Tundra.

Thanks for the post! Go Air Force!

I have the Rock Warrior Wheels as well. I plastidipped the center cap and the rings. Rings get scratched if you get tires changed with them on. The center caps are crap and need to be painted/plastidipped.
I have ticking in the front drivers side wheel. I read through a 100+ page thread on another forum about this and they never could pinpoint the exact problem I am pretty sure its the lug nuts.

I have a set of these. I had the SR5 18" wheels and went with these because I wanted les rim and more sidewall. It's the only 17" wheel I found that will fit. Frankly if I could have gone with a 16" wheel, I would have. In any case, they're good wheels. I was toying with the idea of putting the faux beadlocks in the media blaster and giving them a flat look rather than the bling look. Haven't decided yet. As previously stated, the center caps are crap. The red TRD on mine are all gone. I've heard Toyota addressed that and has a different clear goat on them now.
