@OVTune - Loving the tune for my '18. Tranny shifts hell of a lot better now, even at WOT!!

Really interested with OVTune as long as there is mpg improvement. I have 2015 CM 5.7 NA running 35s on 3 inch lift averaging 10mpg on city and 14mpg on highway. For those with the same setup did you guys see any mpg gains?

    Tastefully enhanced...
Not sure how much improvement you're after but you would certainly see better than you're getting...it's best incentive is how the power is delivered in conjunction with the transmission shifting and Gear Lock option...phenomenal improvement to OEM function with power delivery...I don't think I answered your question :p

I'm getting 12MPG in town and haven't had a chance to drive more than 20 miles to see if the efficiency increases...for my in-town driving, I'm getting less than my TRD tune...though, the skinny pedal seems to fit better on the floor when I'm driving :p

Most of my driving is city and 12mpg is better than 10mpg... pretty much debating between dap and ovtune.

@OVTune did you intend for gear lock to be activated by shifting into s mode on this latest round of tunes sent out? Just loaded the latest and getting data logs made. Thanks

I'm only interested in a response from Mat purely for clarity. No offense to anyone.

I have close to the same setup but in rwd. All I do is city driving and average 12.5~12.7mpg, pre-OVTuning in S4 mode.

@DavidB I played around with traction control off, tow/haul button, s mode but im getting all the same. I will try just doing S4 on city. The fastest I have to drive on city is 45mph-50mph that shouldn't be a problem with S4. Do you OVTune now, does it help with mpg?

Same here, 35-50mph tops in stop-n-go traffic. I uploaded the tune yesterday so not enough mileage to do a comparison but truck feels more alive and tranny feels a lot smoother!!!!

What do you think about a facts and questions thread? Maybe a list of what's available, what's in development, a list of all the questions people have. I've asked a few questions go unanswered, that have been buried simply due to thread chatter. That may help with the same questions getting asked repeatedly. I'm thinking a member ran thread, or not. First post with all the current answers and after plenty of room for crazy talk between members.

Either that or a list of current questions and answers in the first post. Just an idea.

great idea. This thread is only going to get longer and longer and more watered down. Have you seen the OVTune thread at tacoma world? like 50,000 posts!!

I have. I just think there needs to be a page you can go to to get the current answers on any questions. Honestly I think it would be easier on the owner of this fine company.

And of course easier for the multitude of members here.

There does seem to be a bit of mystery as to the progression of the tunes that we're testing. Near as I can tell, the first tune is a basic and safe tune. Then the next one (after some logs are looked over), things are ramped up slightly; red line bumped, timing tinkered with, different throttle response, GL lock available in S-Mode +T/H. Beyond that I don't know what other changes are made or are available. I know that there are unreleased and unfinished things in the pipeline. Even a vague idea of what the process is, is sure to be of benefit, but I've not stumbled upon that information from either @OVTune or any of us testers. Maybe we're on the cutting edge and the tunes that we're running are the most advanced outside of what Mat has flashed to the company truck.

Has anybody asked him to remove throttle limits in 4wd and then tested it??

On his previous posts, Matt mentioned tweaking transmission line pressure(something like that), and also mentioned lean burn for future updates. I'm really happy that OV is adding more features to the tune. For the price of this tune, it is definitely worth it.

I suppose that update was only with some ecus. I still have to press tow haul if I want gear lock in S mode.

you know dont use logic... just advise people on doing the prius mod if the want MPG's..... if you bought a 7k lb 5.7l v8 gas 1/2 ton pick up and are looking for MPG you did it wrong.

That's true, I'd absolutely hate to get better mpg and improve the truck. I love pissing gas away as fast as possible, if anything I wish the tune took mpgs away. #logic

I'm looking at various options. I looked at the OVtune website. It showed 500 HP on the current easton based SC. Magnuson says 550 HP.

Does anyone really know if the Mag SC will put out 550HP? I might wait for the 2650.

If I had to guess, 500hp is Rear Wheel horsepower (550 at crank). 500 is actually on the high side.

I haven't looked at the graph

    I think you're right. Thanks!

I see one on the 2650 at like 513 read wheel at 8 something pressure.

From what I read, you need to get really high pressure to gain a ton from the 2650.
