One of my tires blew out and I need to get a new set. About to move from Ohio to Montana and I’d feel a lot better if all my tires were new, plus I’ll need a good all terrain out there. Daily driver, so no mud terrains.

Currently stock height with Toytec BOSS kit sitting in the garage lol. Stock 18’s, but if I’m gonna get tires now, might as well put them on the stock 18’s until I can find rims. Reallyyy don’t want to break the bank, but I also don’t want to chance a blowout on an 1800mi trek across the US lol.

Suggestions?? I’ve heard the Ridge Grapplers are nice, but I was kinda leaning towards the Duratracs. Also, what size can I run that won’t hit stock UCA’s on these rims for now? Thanks!

I'm probably going to go General Grabber ATX. I feel like Ridge Grapplers are over priced due to the stancy hotbois stretchin em. You don't get much with Ridge Grapplers IMO. Grabber ATXs have a 50k mile warranty.

Since you are sensitive to breakdowns, I would recommend going to a national chain like Discount Tire and purchasing whatever they stock a lot of across the chain and purchasing the road hazard warranty. This will ensure that you have the best possible odds of finding a store that has a replacement in-stock and ready to go. If you get something that has to be ordered, you will be waiting for a parts truck that may or may not come when you need it to.

I live in Montana, from Ohio. What part of MT are you moving to? I can help you narrow down what tire shops they have here.

It’s winter here 6 mo out of the year so a tire that’s good on snow/ice is ideal. And something like 80% of the roads are gravel. I know you said it’s a daily driver but do you plan on going up into the mountains or anything of that nature? A lot of guys run Coopers on their rigs out here. The BFG KO2s are also very popular. I’m also looking at getting new tires on my ‘19, the Falken Wildpeak AT3 piques my interest.

I vote for the Falken Wildpeak AT3. I've had them on for 20,000 miles and they look new. Love them. Little noise but not much. Buy them from Discount Tire and go back every 5,000 to 6,000 miles and have them balanced and rotated for FREE. That's what I do. They'll keep them in perfect shape for you.

@justlite406 Ha! Small world! I’ll be moving to the Bozeman/Big Sky area. Working in Big Sky, and staying there for a couple months until the family moves out there. Looks like the wife scored a job at Bozeman Health.

Been looking at properties out near Manhattan, on the Gallatin River Ranch, but we’ll see where we actually land.

I’m picking up a set of XD wheels tomorrow with 275/65/20 Duratracs, so I know those will do well in the snow. I was out there last summer and noticed all the gravel/dirt roads too. What part are you in?

Duratracs will serve you well in the winter. Not sure if you'll need it, but the Grabber ATX is prepped for studs.

DuraTrac is a solid choice. Congrats on your move. Montana is a beautiful state.

Live in Great Falls. About 3 hours from Bozeman. Bozeman is awesome/beautiful but crazy expensive. Look into Livingston as well. Enjoy your time in MT, so much to see and do, especially if you like the outdoors/hunting.

Thanks! They're the LT Duratracs too so that's nice. I think those are studdable too if I recall. Looking forward to Montana! It really is beautiful!

Yeah we've looked some in Livingston too; not a bad area at all and still has some excellent views! The wife mentioned that we'll have to get some snowmobiles when we get out there, and who am I to argue with that?! Haha. We all love the outdoors so it will be a blast!

Longer list than the wife needs to know about....
    I'm in Bozeman,
If you are going to be driving up the canyon to big sky daily be sure you have good rubber. The Road is pretty well plowed, but there is a lot of traffic going that way so it'll take longer than expected, also Big Sky gets more snow so you can count on driving on hard pack.
I run KO2s and love them in the winter, I've heard of guys having balancing issues with them tho (I didn't).
the Nitto Ridge Grapplers seems to be a popular tire. I've had the best luck with Costco or Interwest Tire in Belgrade has great service.
Bozeman is not cheap by Montana standards but compared to some major cities its cheaper, just depends on your perspective.
If the wife has given the green light on snowmobiles better jump on that asap winter is coming.

    Haha..."Winter is Coming." #got

Yeah I'd love to get them for this winter, but it'll likely have to wait until next winter. Yeah I've seen how not cheap Bozeman is, and Big Sky is worse. Hence why I'm looking at Livingston and Manhatten/Belgrade/Three Forks areas. I don't mind the drive, but we'll see where we can find something.
