Chrome Delete Covers for Tundra Bumpers - BumperShellz

We've thought about it, but the trouble is that those are so large that buying our piece would cost more than the OEM replacement part. People start to raise eyebrows when you are selling an aftermarket part for more than OE. That was just from our initial research, so I think we'll circle back to that at some point and see if there is something clever we can do with the tooling to cut costs.

 

We're planning on putting more up for sale by the end of next week so look out for that!

 

Can I pay more if you make a set? I bet sunset guys would.. it’s impossible to find an alternative unless we buy OEM parts painted $500+

 

At EC1, I ordered mine on 8/30 (silver sky metallic) both front and rear bumper covers. Will the ETA be 6 weeks from 8/30?

@biebs96. I purchased the front and rear paintable ABS bumper covers and had them painted by a local body shop. Install was easy and straightforward.

 

I actually had my painter start working up costs for one/offs just as an option. I think we'll get a little bit of a cost break just because we do so much business with them. @epperson What did your painter charge you to do the color match?

 

Hey Dennis. It's an approximation, so I would expect it to ship by then at the latest, but it should be earlier. Right now we have the Silver Sky scheduled in the paint booth for early next week, but we're trying to bump it up to late this week so we can start nibbing and polishing

 

Please keep us posted on this... This is all my set bronze needs.

 

That would be awesome! Because I found if I bought the paintable abs, then had them painted I was looking at over $400, when I could just order the whole entire assembly painted for $550.

Me too! Once I know I can get a bronze corner cap, then I can buy the grill and bulge surround waiting in my shopping cart.

 

@EC1 what do the painted matched colors (not listed on the website) you normally deal with typically sell for?

I’m sure some guys want to know a ballpark $ amount to make sure it’s a viable option. Thanks.

 

If they're not listed on the website, but we still sell them in our minimum order quantity (10) then they'll be the same price as the rest of the OEM Color matched colors. The ones the don't meet the threshold (like Sunset Bronze) will be up in the air a little bit until my painter puts that pricing together for me.

@EC1 hey there, the painter I used charged me 125 each set for the front and rear covers (250 for all 4). The first shop I took them to gave me an estimate for 550. Wasn't going to happen!

 

Was there any prep work done? Like sanding or filling in scratches on the plastic. Only reason why I’m asking is because mine have some deep scratches and I’m wondering if the can be sanded out

 

Just responded to your message as well! The instructions should have come with an addendum for paint prep. Reference that for some more detials. Let me know if you're missing that, and I'll email a copy to you.

 

@EC1 I noticed on the website.. looking at TPO covers, it states for the fronts they fit only over the metal bumpers (no problem for me)

When I looked at the rear TPO it mentions nothing about fitting only the metal bumpers.

Do the covers fit over the OEM color matched rear bumper ends??

Trying to get as much as clarification as I can before I order.

Additionally they say the are in stock, if ordered, how long until they ship.

Good question! So the plastic OEM parts have noticeable geometric differences from their metal counterparts. The plastic parts have sharper angles. For the rear covers, it doesn't create enough interference to affect the fit of our covers. The front is a different story. That's why our covers will work for the OEM Plastic and Metal rears, but only the Metal fronts. Since you have a chrome front bumper this won't matter to you, but we are working on designing a front cover that will work for both the metal and plastic parts.

For shipping, our stock parts will ship out between 2 and 4 days after the order is placed.

 

Interested in a set of blazing blue pearl front and back. I ordered a set back when you were trying to get oem color orders but had no luck in filing the order so I was refunded.

 

@EC1 I see I’m late to the party. Interested in a front set in quicksand for my 2019 and didn’t know if y’all had a run planned on that color any time soon. If not, what would be the closest color option to the stock front valence, TPO or ABS? Thanks in advance

 

I think we do have one or two sets of quicksand still in stock! I'll check into that tomorrow and let you know. If not, TPO is the closest to the center valance.

 

Hey Tomas. Still no BBP unfortunately. I thought we would have had time to add more colors to the mix by now, but we're still just trying to keep up with what we've got.

 

Any word on those custom colors yet?
