It appears as though yours sit much flatter than mine, but my general springs are new.

I tried to hammer it out, no dice. Not sure what I'll do. Thankfully you can't hear the squeak while driving.

Maybe its just since it was something different but once I took my mudflaps off, I thought the truck looked so much more aggressive.

i'm that weird guy that likes his mudflaps :anonymous:

i just take them off if im going anywhere where flex may be at its near limit. but onroad i like how it keeps things off the body... (moreso in the winter with the salt in the snow..)

I don't really like mudflaps, but I really want to make some fox shocks mudflaps. Maybe just some simple and flexible mudflaps with fox logos. Something like this.

Utilitarian me says keep them. They protect the paint and body to some extent, and don't look that bad.

For aesthetic reasons, ditch them. It will look cool, for a while. Then the dirt and grime takes over, covering your now questionable paint.

Well the silver paint I am applying to the inside of my wheels really looks good...until I mount them. When mounted it reflects a bit of the blue of the drums but not enough to be blue nor enough silver showing, kind of a mottled mess. Pictures simply don't show the color. It is unacceptable to me so I am going to apply several coats of a medium blue over the silver, hoping if nothing else to have a consistent color and, with fingers crossed, that the silver helps bring more intensity to the blue overcoats.

Rather than post again with pics, etc., I will just amend this one when I am done.

I finished in the dark, so I will make a point of taking a picture early tomorrow before tackling the front wheels for the same treatment. I will say that I think I like the blue treatment, but then I sort of indicated that last night with the silver only to wake this morning to a hag in my bed.:puke:

I’m sure regular ol flappy mudflaps like those could easily be made to fit these trucks.

I really like your setup there. Lifted? And what size are your wheels and tires? I recently got a 06 DC from my father in law. Looking to upgrade it a bit.
    Thanks!

Jon, do you think this is a design flaw, or did your guy just get lazy when welding? Why didn't you say anything to Brute Force about the missing legs? I was leaning towards BFF sliders but I feel like I'm going to get eaten alive on the install price since they really are not a finished product.

The legs weren't missing. However some of the triangular gussets got lost while shipping. the small box they came in was damage. Probably while shipping. It's too bad that hadn't taken more preventative measures. For instance my Coastal Off Road bumper kit came.in boxes that were shrink wrapped so no small loose.parts could be lost.

I was probably the first to get BFF sliders on the tundra. At the time he didn’t do the gussets so mine doesn’t have them. Been wheeling like that for years with no issues. 27099D48-5069-43FD-BD19-2B10062BA2D1.jpg

    Good to know. :)
Definately takes the "wait and see" and "hope this works" out of it haha

    Are your legs angled down?

I haven't towed with them, I got my own 2000 Tundra last November, and just got the Overland springs installed on my own truck last week (long story why it took so long). They would do well towing the factory rated capacity, the stock springs are pretty lame and only takes 600-700 lbs to drop them down on the overloads. People have Four Wheel Campers on these springs doing moderately well.

I’ll have to check but I believe the legs are slightly below the frame to keep it straight. I know the legs design has been updated since mine.

Aside from a little cleanup of over spray, the wheels are done and I like them. And of course being the free thinker I raised him to be, my son doesn't. Now on to filling the gash in my fender flare and retouching the paint, and fixing the dent in my driver's side rear panel behind the wheel and the cosmetic stuff is pretty much done.

Mine had to be angled down from the frame to fit around the pinch weld on the body

Yeah you can either angle it down or drop the leg a touch below the frame. Mines extremely close to the pinch weld and they do flex into them but never dented the pinch nor do they make noise

Damn. Yours looks good with fill plates and white truck.
