I'm wondering if the $3000 is regional. I was told $2000 (this is a private Toyota -> Dealer incentive) OR special APR

We got $8k up here in Canada ...but they didn't budge on the MSRP with that promo, at least the couple I inquired with.

They moved on other stuff like 1/2 price accessories, add ons and extended coverage for stuff, plus the color we wanted, which was a huge bonus. Line-X premium for $250cad was a bonus too.

I figured $8k off MSRP was pretty good without having to haggle and draw it out or waste a bunch of time trying to get a few more hundered or thousand. My time is worth something too and in the end, we care happy with the Truck, which is the main thing.

Thought I had a deal on a leftover today. All set to give a deposit. Then of course they threw in $750: in doc/reg fees !
Gets better I wanted to to pay cash and do all my registration tuff myself . I planned to buy in neighboring state. Dealer told me that I’m unable to do registration. They must do all registration??? Never heard that before , “ That’s what Toyota wants us to do”
    Anyone ever run into this?

So I just got 12% off msrp plus 0%. It was still a little more than I wanted to spend but the dealership was really looking to make a deal. No pics yet, truck getting delivered to me.

Nope. But never tried doing registration myself. Usually let dealer deal with that.

I didn’t get the 12% off MSRP like I wanted but got 11.63% off instead for a ‘19 Tundra 1794 Edition. $55450 MSRP. Got it for $46000 + TT&L. I’m satisfied. Thanks everyone for the insights!

Was this at Bristol Toyota in Rhode Island? I've been in touch with them but they beat around the question when I asked for pricing. I'm from CT and still looking around since no dealers in CT will go below 42k for a Barebone SR5 Crewmax.

After reading this thread, I went to my local dealer on Monday and asked for 12% off the MSRP of $45,128 for a 19 Tundra TRD Sport DC. After a little back and forth, I got 10.84%
    MSRP - $45,128
    Discount - $4,891
    Rebate - $3,000
Price with discount and rebate - $37,237

After some negotiation, I got them to give me $22,000 for my 2017 SR5 4.6L with 61,000 miles, bald tires and grinding brakes.

Something else that I'm sure some of you are aware of is that dealers will also try to make money by marking up the interest rate if you are financing through them and not using special advertised financing like the 0% through Toyota. After I had negotiated the deal on the new truck and the trade, I asked them to show me payments. They gave me options for 60, 66, and 72 months which looked high to me. I asked what rate they were using and they said "around 4%". I knew I could do better. Here's where it's good to have a friend who's a banker. I called someone I know who's the head of consumer lending at a bank I have a relationship with and was able to get 2.79% for 66 months.

Picking up the new truck tomorrow! Swapping my ARE cap over to the new truck.

Did a few Months research on all the Toyota dealerships in a 50 mile radius of where i live, and found quite a big difference in prices on the truck i wanted, and ended up having to go out of State to get the truck i wanted. I'm not a total off-roader, but we do head into the woods when we can, so i thought a TRD Sport would fit our needs perfectly. The MSRP was $45,053.00 and after inquiring about the truck online, i got a quote of $38,600.00 from a top guy from the dealership. I called him the next day and asked him about all the rebates i could get, and if he was willing to negotiate, he said of course, Come On Down!.:yes:Well, me and the wife drive an hour to the dealership and end up with a salesman who has no idea of the deal i made online, and is a complete A-Hole to boot!. I told him about the negotiations i had with his boss, but he didn't care and wouldn't budge a nickle beyond the rebates, ...so we walked. Long story short, my wife was so pissed when we got home, she sent a strongly worded E-Mail to the nice guy we had dealt with from the beginning about the way we were treated. :angrygirl: To this great sales managers credit, he admitted he had problems with this salesman before, and asked if $37,350.00 would seal a deal. I told him absolutely, and picked up the truck the next week. In my opinion this just proves that you have to be firm in what you're willing to pay, and bypass the vermin salesman and go directly to the top, so you don't get screwed.

Has anyone made a purchase in Oct yet? Getting quotes between $46 and $49k for a Platinum with Predator steps and bedliner. Seems really high still.

I can tell you in Michigan and Ohio dealers aren’t moving much south of $46k.

the best deal I found was 45.2k on a 52.8k MSRP 2019 Platinum which includes the $3k incentive. That was roughly 9% off MSRP before the rebate.

no one would touch the 11% that some of the members are getting, even on the last day of the month, which tells me that it’s very regional or volume based dealers that discount heavily only.

in a way it makes sense in Michigan where the big 3 dominate, so perhaps there are no “true” volume dealers.

I ended up settling at 46.1k on a 53.7k msrp truck so 8.5%...

If you are close to 46k I would be all over that . Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. There are not that many 19s left so I would probably strike if you are serious and ready to buy.

I'm looking at a new 19 tundra Platinum. 53025 window sticker and they quoted me 47,700 out the door with Predator Steps ($700) included. With the 0%. Sound like a good deal? Right at the gurus 11.2%. thanks

Higher volume dealers obviously can do well with smaller margins and they all get a rebate from the factory based on the units sold. Nearing the end of the month or end of a sales quarter or end of the year they want to move more trucks even if they make no money on a particular sale as the factory rebate applies to all the trucks sold during the period.

With my last truck I had to drive 120 miles to get the deal I wanted. It was not the color I would have picked but I saved $4,000 over any other truck quote and I got the dealer to include the running boards for free and a free bed liner (mistake as sprayed in liner is less restrictive for later add-ons) and free tow mirrors.

I can buy a 2018 5.7L Limited with under 20,000 miles on the odometer from a dealer for $32,000 and less naturally from a private party (where I can get the service records as well). So for me it is a question of what I would get for the extra $12,000 with a new 2020 truck. New or used the 6001 plus GVWR means I get the Section 179 tax write-off in the first year so it comes down to improvements and I with the 2020 and I have not found any as compared to the 2018 trucks.

When I bought my Mint CPO 2014 SS Platinum 2wd with under 18k in Dec 2017 I paid 34k for it from a Stealership. An older guy owned it, I found a pair of clip-on shades in the sun glasses holder. Came with Remote Start , ARE LSll Series Tonneau Cover :), Spray-on bed liner :), and 4 new Michelin Defender LTX M/S tire's.

Where are you getting the 2018 limited for 32000 with 20k. I'd travel quite a distance for that. I'm looking around 37-40 in my area for that truck. Sounds like a great find.
