I bought my truck on Wednesday and absolutely love it. I've been driving like an old lady and baby-ing my new baby. So of course the truck gods decided to humble me by throwing a deer in front of my truck on the way home last night.
So just took a look this morning and all in all I think I got real lucky. I can hardly notice the damage. Not bad for a plastic bumper. If I can take care of that little crack im all good.
Any ideas on how to do that?

You did get lucky. I had a spotted fawn run out in front of me last week, 3 days into owning the 3rd gen. In my 1st gen I hit 4 before my bumper actually broke.

One way to address the crack is to drill a small hole at the end of the crack on each side, then slightly score the back side of the bumper skin over the crack. Use a 2 part epoxy to reinforce the crack from the back side. Painters tape over the front to keep epoxy from oozing out of the holes/crack onto your paint. Then touch up paint on the front side.

There are other ways, but this is how I’d approach it rn.

    Edit: crack, not crash

Congrats on the new truck. You did get lucky - My wife hit s deer and damage was over $1500 (and this was from a glancing blow). Since this is a new truck you may want to check with your insurance. We went through insurance for my wife's car and learned that hitting the deer was covered under comprehensive. The $100 deductible made it worth going through insurance.

Man sorry to hear that. People put down chrome bumpers end and non painted plastic. This is why I don't want painted bumper pieces. Hopefully you'll get it fixed without too much bite to your wallet.

Had a deer run into the side of my 17 Double cab awhile back. It was standing three feet from the road, and as soon as I was next to it at about 55, it turned and ran INTO me. Right at the passenger back door and pillar. 2700$ in damages and a week in the shop.

Obviously the only solution is an aftermarket bumper upgrade.

Thats what I did the first one that I hit. Insurance estimate was about 2200$ for that. All total it would have been $5K and two deductibles because of deer. Didn't claim the first one and just did a aftermarket bumper which I wanted to do anyway.

Yeah, my wife had pointed out if I was driving the sedan I'm trying to sell it would have really done some damage.
