Luckily I’m barely over a mile from the place at residential speeds because it’s way over GVWR. I made the mistake of getting a yard of sand once before these springs and it rode on the bump stops the whole way.

What are the measurements from wheel center to bottom of the flares?

22 3/4". I prefer to measure from the ground as I think it leaves less room for error.

Either way it’s still an AAL trying to bandaid old stock leafs. Highly doubt either are tuned to work with the stock spring. The progressive AAL only lifted it the thickness of the pack and stiffen the ride

I had the AAL before and now a complete full replacement. Night and day difference. I wouldn’t have even wasted my time on the AAL if the full replacement was available

Wheel center tends to eliminate differences in tires and tire pressures.

My rear are 22 1/4” from center hub to bottom of flare. 36 1/4” from the ground.

What rear springs do you run?

Yep. Had I known this was going to be the outcome I would have just waited and saved for new leaf packs. Lesson learned. I will say the truck seems to ride just a little better.

For the $1100 for the Archive Garage springs you could replace your leaf packs and transfer the Icon AAL and still be a couple hundred cheaper.

I did find the DC trucks had a thicker leaf pack so that may be the difference.

Sorry, not following. Still a couple hundred cheaper than what? I would't buy OEM leaf packs. Archive is about the only option if you want more flex, but extremely expensive. I wasn't super impressed that Riley's were rusted to hell after 1 winter.

Still cheaper than what Archive is charging, sorry I wasn't clear on that.

Napa has packs for about $300/side, General Spring has an HD version for $230/side+shipping.

So someone should grab DC leaf packs from a junkyard and put em on their AC

Price has gone up since I purchased. Worth every penny though. Developed for and tested on our trucks, not just a generic aal.

Did you decide to keep your truck? @lsaami has them on order. Not installed yet.

Yes I did! I ended up getting another truck more practical for a car seat though.

My wife's van needed a starter. So while we waited on that to be shipped to the house she drove the tundra to work, and she fell in love with it. Told me I could keep it and all the parts I have been collecting to build it. I never wanted to get rid of it, it's the best vehicle I have ever had. However she did not see the need in 3 vehicles for the 2 of us before. Now she's a believer!

So we are still going to build an offroad style tube bed for it as well. Not sure about how much the custom bed will weigh, so I am researching my options as far as leaf springs.

Most I’ve towed is 4K but it felt like nothing was there, barely any squat. The ride is amazing when it’s fully loaded for trips. A little rough when empty.

Maybe @Archive or @toyotech2016 has experience with towing that much weight.

My j59s on my taco don’t tow well, I’d assume overland spec ones for a tundra Will. I’d rather replace than do the aal on my truck. But tis will likely be next year

Wonder how ridiculously high the assend will be unloaded on a reg cab though

Sorry quick question guys front wheel bearing and hub, dealership quoted me at $830 before tax, the part is $100 on autozone, would this be easier to pay them to do or easy enough to accomplish on my own with a buddy and a 12pack?

If you have a press it should be easy enough. If not find a local place you can bring the part to, not worth $800 at the dealer.

I bought all the parts online then took the spindles to a shop to press in the new bearings. They only charged me $150 for the bearings and to weld on the spindle gussets.

I would highly advise a factory bearing just because the aftermarket are lower quality. And the bearings are kind of a bear to do

I have brand new leafs from General and I did the ICON AAL and removed the overload. I didn't experience what you did but as soon as a load up a few hundred pounds of camping gear, food, wood and beer I sag pretty bad. Lower in the back then the front. The ride is really nice on and offroad though! This winter I'll likely be swapping them out for Archive Garages Deavers with U bolt flip kit and superbumps.

That one spring (overload) is damn thick and i doubt it even bends at all. it is there to reinforce the 3 shitty other springs. I can't imagine those 3 springs without the overload or the AAL. They'd be bent the opposite direction.

I forgot you had those. That is disappointing to hear so I will probably take those off the list. Thanks for speaking up. I really hate that we have such few options.

He was talking about the Helwig Helper spring. I just have my doubts that it would provide more lift than the add-a-leaf.

Between the ICON CO's and the ICON AAL my truck is smooooooth all around. Pretty happy with it other than the sagging under load.
