Apologies in advance, I have searched and not found anything on this topic, so I am asking here. The trend has been to make headlight housings out of plastic, which in time become hazy and asides from becoming less functional, they look ugly as hell, and no matter what I have tired to get them to look new again it never works for me.

So the question is, does anyone know if they make headlight housings out of glass for our Tundras? If they do where can I check them out please.

Thank You, I didnt think they did but I had to give it a shot. It just infuriates me that something that is relatively expensive has been mare part of the redundantly obsolete and that you then have to replace it.

It takes more than a little elbow grease to clean up headlights.
I restored the headlights on my 1997 Camry and they look almost brand new. Now it’s up to the clear coat paint to protect the clear plastic from UV rays and from yellowing them again.

Check out post 23 and 24 from my camry thread and let me know if you have any questions. All it took was my cordless drill, a Velcro sand paper adapter, sand paper with velcro backing, and some polish/ wax.

I would suggest finding a detailing company local to you and having them do a restoration then. Most companies around me charge between $100-$150.
That is, of course, if you don’t want to pony up for new headlights. If you do buy new I would go with the sequoia LED lights.
