The arm on the fuel door lock that rotates and engages to lock the door is gone. I can replace the whole lock, but would prefer to keep the original since the key matches the door keys. Are there any tricks or tips to replace just the arm? I don’t actually care if the door locks, just don’t want it flapping in the breeze... any suggestions?

On my old 4Runner, the lock cylinder and arm were retained to the fuel door by a sliding clip on the backside.

If you learn there is no way to replace the arm itself, try taking the original lock and a donor lock to a locksmith. A locksmith can probably swap the original cylinder to the donor lock easily.

I don’t see a fuel door without a key on the Toyota parts diagrams. You’re talking 1st gen, right? Any idea on part no?

Thanks. Yeah, that was plan B, or just live with a 3rd key.
