I'm on my third Tundra. All of them have been Gen 1. The first 2 had the V6 engine. Now I have a V8. I've had this one for a little more than 2 years now. It just now has 99K miles. I'm having a problem that I noticed shortly after I bought it. If or when you put the accelerator all the way to the floor, the pedal tends to stick and it just keeps speeding up. To get it to release, you have to basically stomp on the pedal. I've been able to handle it without any problem, but last week my wife was driving it. She was entering the interstate and had a small opening to squeeze in, between an 18 wheeler in front and a smaller car behind. She hit the gas to get up to their speed and squeeze in the opening, then she let off the accelerator, but it stuck to the floor. She almost ran into the back of the truck before she was able to get it to un-stick. Any ideas?

2006 is drive by wire. There is no cable that runs from the accelerator pedal to the throttle body. We have a throttle actuator that receives an electronic signal from a position sensor that tells a servo on the side of the throttle body how much to open or close. Assuming your accelerator pedal didn't just get hung up on a floor-mat, I'd spend the $100 to have the shop run a diagnostic.
