Wow! that's some serious flooding. Looks like fun if you know you wouldn't get swept away!

THEY AREN'T EVEN ON THE ROAD! Is it possible the trucks were moved over there by the water? When people do this intentionally it really frustrates me. My wife used to work in insurance. What people don't understand is that these major events impact everyone, even those who didn't file a claim. The insurance companies will have to recoup their losses so they will issue statewide rate increases as a result. If Statefarm loses a ton of money, even their customers in El Paso could see an increase.

Generally what happens is the current pushes them off, either at the beginning, or after they sit there a while. The current is especially strong there when flooding happens.

Maybe posting videos of these guys committing insurance fraud would wisen everybody up.

In agreement with people committing fraud. I truly hate that, especially when I need to pay good money for my insurance and go by the principle of doing things the right way. I would
I would’ve love someone taking a video of that Honda guy driving his car into the flood and then taking a picture. Social media would have been posting how these people truly are...

I missed one. That makes two “Jeeps”, two Dodges, a Ford, and a Chevy, and that’s just on my road.

These vehicles are in the spot that I took my first pic on my way home. There was zero chance I’d even think about it at the time. It was way higher by the time these guys tried it. There’s a bridge right about where my tailgate is. The bridge ended up going under a few hours later.
    Either intentional, or incredibly stupid.

Keep in mind this was not the only way to go. There were other options.

Left off part of the story. The owner of my company drove down from the main office (about two hours away) to go to the airport.
His insulin must’ve been jacked up, because he tried to go through some water and flooded his car out. I had to send one of my guys who was close to get him and take him to a hotel. We had his car towed to the office. He canceled his trip and went home. Apparently doesn’t give a shit about the car, and isn’t coming back for it.
Now I have this 2012 Lincoln sitting here, like I’m supposed to figure out what to do with it.

    TEXAS!
war machine, i am unsure how to tag, notify, or do anything other than "quote" others.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ANYONE IN YOUR FAMILY NEEDS HELP. I CAN OFFER TIME, TOOLS, AND KNOW-HOW.

sad that most of us are "pros" at mucking / rebuilding after flood events.

are you near spring creek? maybe kingwood area?

was hit very hard during harvey and took me 2 yrs to rebuild house in cinco; no flood insurance.

i vowed once we finished and sold, that i would never again sit on my duff while others had to go through this.

spent all last weekend in elm grove (kingwood), and about 7 hours today; going to rest tomorrow, but will be back up there, or anywhere else i can help, next saturday.

elm grove was hit hard in may, then again, during imelda.

the drywall i was removing had a manufacture date stamp of april 2019; furniture still had tags; wanted to cry for these families.

i live inside the loop, but VERY MUCH willing to load up and make the trip.

    PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Thank you very much for the offer sir! My aunt and uncle are the only ones I know personally who got it in their house. They got about a foot, and have it handled. It really stinks because just like you they’ve only recently gotten their house fixed from Harvey. They got almost seven feet then.

You are right about how sad it is that people around here are pros at fixing flood damage. It has certainly been more frequent over the last 10-20 years it seems.

Very cool that you give your time to help people out. I’ve been through this, and a lot of my family has also. It’s just a horrible experience.

    TEXAS!
going through that experience was much worse than i could have ever imagined, and we had it better than most; been in residential construction for 18 years, and had lots of contacts for all the repairs i could not perform on my own.

best of luck to your aunt and uncle.

i am only a post / pm away if you guys need ANYTHING AT ALL. i enjoy the exercise and the work.
