I had mine fixed at Toyota of Naperville. They were great about it. Mine had 3000 miles on it when I noticed it. Not sure where you bought yours, but try a different dealer.

You have a 2018? I wonder if this has hit the 2019’s yet.

I have a 2018 as well with 37,000 miles on it. Spotlessly clean, both sides but it seems to be a random issue, no specific year. My son has a 2008 with 190,000 tough hard miles on it and his is spotless on both sides as well. I've also checked my wifes 2017 Sequoia and hers is also clean.

Dealership has the truck as we speak... I showed them both sides. They just called and said it is a "seep" and not a "leak". Begin the shit show. The passenger side is worse than the driver's side. They cleaned it and said it is noted on the service record and we will continue to monitor it. The truck is a 2018 with 11k on the clock. I told him that what he is really saying is that it is fine for a $47k truck to leak oil. He had no response. I think it's time to try a different dealership.

I started seeing mine at 11K miles. I drove it normal until ~20K and then took it in. At that point it was a legit leak. But I would definitely take it to another dealership

Is this a Toyota dealer or an attorney number for class action?

I pick it up tomorrow... We'll see how it goes and what kind of answers I get. They change employees so often that it has to be in writing or it is useless.

Well same bull$hit song and dance... No TSB, so.... No repair. It is documented in the service records and if it evolves from a "seep" to a "leak" by the gods of Toyota then it will get taken care of.

    Wow....went through 47 pages until I needed a break.
While I agree that a leak on such an old mass produced engine has not been addressed by Toyota yet, is a definite WTF? I think that dealers should be made aware by the manufacturer and if a Tundra comes in with the issue or gets diagnosed with it, they should automatically honor the powertrain warranty (if the truck is still covered by it), no fuss, no questions.

I will be checking mine today. I'm at 58k miles so getting close to loosing warranty coverage.

Got mine back today little disappointed they ended up doing only the leaking side and fixing another motor issue after I said I wanted both sides done. Not sure how to take it. They had it for 2 weeks but I did call 2 hours before my warranty expired and they took care of me. But they told me the passenger side is normally the only side that leaks and the driver looked great ? Not sure if this is a load of crap but did cover it another year. Any thoughts ?

Mine was the passenger side as well, they only repaired that side and I put another 25k on the truck after the repair without a leak again. I even offered to pay my dealer to have the driver side resealed while they were doing the passenger side and they wouldn't do it. As for only the passenger side leaking I would take that with a grain of salt as we have seen both sides fail.

I can guarantee you I’d have made it appear the other side was leaking too before taking it in. It’ll just start leaking on the other side after your warranty is up, sticking you with repair costs.

    way of the world unfortunately.

Agreed, common issue and just a matter of time. Had the leak and fixed at 21k, drove the truck to 48k and have since sold it.

Yep not sure what else you can do, there argument to me was if they take it apart the non leaking side then it might start leaking. Who knows, I still say this is a design flaw and thus why Toyota has yet to solve the issue.

Well and like they told me the passenger side is good for a year so that means I’m sure they don’t wanna cover more then they have to

Dealer confirmed the leak on my truck yesterday. Goes in Monday for the repair. They said they only repair the leaking side (passenger), but may do the other side if things look different when they start pulling things apart. 2016 with 57k miles.

Just picked up my truck from the dealer. I thought I had a leak on the passenger side only, but evidently both sides were leaking. Glad to have both sides done. I also paid to have the water pump and belt replaced while there were in there.
