I'm enjoying the site and looking at all kinds of cool Tundys. I'm starting to notice that people just hate chrome stuff. Is this a generational thing? My truck has the chrome bumpers, running boards and 1/2 and 1/2 billet grill. I wouldn't call the wheels chrome because they are a little smokey, with chrome badges. I came from the generation of chrome things like motorcycles and car trim. This is the 1st vehicle I've owned in the past 25 or so years with chrome accents and kinda think it's cool. :crapstorm:

It's all personal preference. There are a few guys here who like chrome. I don't mind it but prefer color matched parts over chrome parts. I'm not a fan of excessive blacking out of trucks, I feel that is just way to common nowadays. My buddy has a white 16 tundra limited and the chrome looks good on his truck

My truthful answer is the glare off of it. I like dull things: knifes, ice picks, machetes, tires, my life, and my truck

My truck is completely stock, nothing added (outside Toyota) nothing removed. It's also our first truck, maybe that's why I'm not picky and I don't mind a mix.

I don't dare for the ALL black, midnight or murder editions.

My opinion is that chrome is for Harley's, Classic Hotrods and Peterbilts. I have always felt that way though.

I love real chrome. I like the plastic covered in a chrome like appearance. I’m 38. Not millennial, not gen x. (And a middle child, I’m all kinds of messed up and lost) Chrome bumpers are the way it’s supposed to be to me. Personal preference. Color matched looks cheap to me.

I am in no way hating on anyone that doesn’t like chrome. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. I just happen to like the shinny part of chrome. I think it completes the look.

My last car was black and the one before that was a dark navy. I'm absolutely done with black and dark colored cars as I've owned them all my life. The sun cooks them and any bug goo or debris into the finish. Never had a white vehicle, I notice it's not cooking itself to death on the interior and exterior surfaces. We have a solid 4 months of mid to high 90s, and I'm realizing how much the lighter color doesn't absorb heat.

Most modern vehicles are color matched, even bikes that we’re used to seeing chrome (2020 Harley):

Ultimately your preference, only matters is you love what you own.

The only chrome on my truck is the lettering, front logo and rear bumper. Getting rid of it is on my to-do list. Chrome is acceptable when it's real metal. Plastic "chrome" is chintzy and tacky imho and a problem commonly seen around here is people over do it; chrome window visors, chrome fender flares etc. That said, I'm not a fan of full blacked out trucks either. I prefer color matched trucks.

I'm also 30 years old, don't like Harley's and don't really care for classic muscle cars so my appreciation of chrome stuff is probably jaded. LOL

I have chrome front bumper & grilles on both of my trucks, but my '07 will eventually have a color matched grille & bumper. I started deleting badges & chrome on my vehicles 40 years ago.

IMHO, chrome accents look better on some colors than others. I think it goes well with the Barcelona Red.

Yeah, I do wish any exterior chrome was real chrome and the plastic chrome inside was just BLK.

Chrome in moderation looks good on some colors and as subtle accents on wheels. I tend to stay away from it though.

A favorite car that I once owned had very little chrome, and with the exception of the rear bumper the rest of the bright metal / chrome on this car was subtle and there were no badges on the body.

    IMG_6559.1.jpg

I liked the way that Pontiac looked, and I am giving my old RCSB a similar badge-less appearance with even less chrome / bright metal.
