    Hello everyone,

I've got some great news for anyone with sagging leafs or leaf performance you are not happy with. Coming soon to a truck near you! The thing many of you have been waiting for and some of you didn't know was an issue but will now.

For a long time, @osidepunker and I have been working on this idea/problem and it's now finally coming to fruition. Alex and I both noticed/experienced that with LT spring under setups and even I when running MT rear setup with our heavy trucks were causing premature leaf failure and sagging. Due to our tundra leafs being 2.25" wide and when going to a progressive leaf pack to support 7k lbs + of truck you needed a large number of leafs upwards of 11-13. The issue is they still fail and sag in a short amount of time (6 months or less). The problem is the individual leafs are too thin and articulation fatigues the thin material too quickly. So 18 months ago Alex had a long conversation after going onto his 4th set of leafs with Jeff at Deaver as to what would be a fix. His suggestion was if we had 3" wide leafs like fords he would have far greater success and options to help us. So he had a custom set of 3" wide leafs made by Jeff to the same spec as a tundra SUA leaf but 3" wide which gave him a lot more options for weight support and material and leaf design. Then had custom 3" wide front hangers and rear shackle spacers and leaf plates made. The kit was a one-off custom and expensive. Well, I wanted to do this conversion now too that he proved it works wonders. Also providing the community with a do it yourself solution for a lower cost. SO, the research began. We found all the parts needed for the swap, developed front hangers, spring plates and everything else you need to do this your self. The current offering will be for SUA for now, and MT guys I'm working on a kit for you as well. Just need to have a 3" wide spring plate made for SOA. I'm working on it stay tuned should have it done soon.

I will be doing a thread soon on how to do the install and whats required.

    ***A few things to note***

The leaf springs will be ordered directly from Deaver and will come with 5/8ths u-bolts (ask for 5/8ths) and leaf spring bushings.

MANDATORY to have your axle weight when you order your leaf springs from Deaver.

Eventually, Jeff and I talked there may be a simple part number for certain leafs like how we have k37's, u748's and i96 variants. the same will be done for these, but we have to get a few built first before we get to that point to see if there are commonalities on truck weights.

I'll be offering everything else you will need. The reason is the deavers are custom spec'd to the weight of your truck and gear set up so everyone is different.

Please feel free to post questions

Introduction Price: $799.00 includes shipping. No tax pay via paypal or venmo.

    What's included in the kit:
3" Leaf Spring 1/4" Steel Weld-in Front Hanger (Existing Frame holes are used for indexing front leaf hanger) This will be fully welded and ready to go, the picture above is just tack welded together, the version you will get will be fully welded.
3" Leaf Spring 1/4" Steel Plate, fully welded ready for install
    All grade 8 5/8th's hardware
Shackle Spacers (You must have two-piece shackle similar to Total Chaos, camburgs 1 piece will not work)
Energy Suspension Frame side shackle bushing and sleeve.

Here is a teaser of the Front hanger.

If you are interested in these and want to be included in the first run. I'll be doing a "First Run" group buy of 10 kits. PM me and I'll get your name on the list if you absolutely want to buy this kit.

    Great idea !
if you go 3" wide on the leaf pack, can you still fit a full size spare underneath the bed ? I have K37s with MCM shackles and it's pretty close already

Sign me up Bruce. I'm having an I96 pack installed next month. I can't imagine Jeff could get me a 3" pack before my install date so I'll have to do a temporary I96 and upgrade to the 3" later

well it only adds a little over 1/4" on both sides of the pack, and will push out the shackle both inboard and outboard 1/4" so yes you can but would be dependant on a few things like fire size and shackle type

This upgrade is something that will benefit every tundra, mid travel spring over axle as well as long travel spring under. Toyota went with 2.25 leaf stock to save money. But it doesn't work for a heavy full size truck. When I first approached Jeff with the idea he was excited. He knew about the limitations of the thin leafs but he doesnt ever want to suggest something drastic like changing your leaf hanger. So he just kept making my packs thicker and thicker but they would never give me the ride height I wanted and they would always sag even more after less than a year.

Ive been beating the sht out of my current packs for a yeah and a half now and they are holding up. btw, The Truck weighs over 8000 lbs, the rear axle is 3900 lbs, and I do sht like this all the time:

I don’t even run my shit offroad but I’m definitely a believer that long travel SUA with these leaves will do wonders for ride quality.
I spent all my money on baby diapers so I can’t buy in now but this is something I will keep my eye on for the future.

I remember hearing about this quite a while ago and this is good timing because I'm investigating a possible LT future, but I'm still in the learning phase.
If I'm converting from SOA to SUA and want to go straight to 3" leafs with your kit what else do I need?
Leafs and u-bolts will come from Deaver obviously.
From what I can tell I'll need spring perches and shackles. Is that it? Are SUA shackles different than SOA shackles?

Yes, SUA shackles are different and even more so 'cause you're getting wider, U-bolts (should come from Deaver) and bolt plates, strike pad for the bumps, extended brakes lines and the perches you already mentioned. That's all I can think of right now, I'm sure Bruce can finish/correct my list.

Ok so to answer a few questions... if you are going to LT your truck the only other parts you will need are

    Leafs
Ubolts - they come w springs from Deaver
3” leaf axle mounts (if you are already sua and have them welded on the 2.5” ones will work fine”
Shackles (call TC and buy just the shackles)

And for you bed cage I suggest camburg cage it’s easy I can help you figure that part out and the little parts you will need

As far as lift for SOA MT guys expect the lift to be similar to u748/k37’s

As far as SUA they are exactly like i96 packs just wider and will maintain height , so expect 3-4 “ lift in the rear over stock but sua vs soa is hard to compare because you have way more droop and up travel.

I will add you guys to the list.. those who I know are interested

Its not about how much "lift", its about getting the correct ride height. So a SUA setup should have 16-17" travel. On a leaf spring rear, you want roughly 50% droop for proper handling. In other words, you want about 8" up travel. The 2.25" leafs were only giving me 4" uptravel. I have 3" bumps and I was usually about 1" from the bump so I was constantly riding the bumps. In the picture I posted I was unloaded, but I had roughly 7" to the bump or 10" uptravel. With all my gear and fluids I have the perfect ride height, 5" to the bumps or in other words, 8" uptravel.

FYI in the front you want to maximize uptravel while still maintaining enough droop so it rides well. For a 16" kit, 5" droop is best. At 4" droop it starts to ride like crap, the wheels don't fall into the depressions on the trail well enough
