2005 Tundra Crew cab exhaust confusion?

    Just purchased a 2005 Tundra Crew cab and want to increase the exhaust tone slightly - I mean slightly. Did a little research and settled on the Dynomax 19330 cat back kit. I was going to order from Autozone but apparently it is no longer available. Found one on another website but it had a fitment stipulation of access cab only. Does anyone know what this difference is? When I looked @ another performance exhaust it lists the Access cab having a 74.7" bed and the crew w/ a 74.3" bed if that makes any difference.

    The double cab is about a foot longer so the kit for an access cab won’t fit.

    You actually got lucky. The gen 1 trucks lose performance whenever you replace the stock piping. It is a unique size.

    Put any muffler you like in there with the stock pipes and you will be happy!

    No expert here but if the bed lengths are similar I would think the y - pipe would be the same and the muffler back the same. I googled a few other brands and the cat backs are the same for Access and Crew.

    I have the Touring and from in the cab, it’s barely louder then stock. From outside it has a nice throaty, but not overly loud sound. It’s stainless, so should last the life of your truck.

    This is the 3rd one I’ve run on one of my trucks.

    I assume you’re not in the Los Angeles area or you could hear mine.

    Literally had the truck less than a week and I have a long list of mods that could surpass 2K. Think I need to slow down an evaluate what I need vs. what I want. Thanks.

    Borla is ALWAYS a good choice. I've never heard anything bad about them and they are recommended by everyone for another car forum I'm on.

    Dynomax doesn't make one for the single or DC trucks.

    Walker (Dynomax parent company) has 2 direct fit parts though, a new clamp and gasket and they'll bolt right on. I've got the 18954 and it sounds good.

    The Walker is, the SoundFX is a little more aggressive but not much.

    You could also remove the resonator to gain a little more.

    It can get confusing. Your showing the single side exit. It's a lot cheaper yet it sounds just as good. The three exhaust systems are easy installs for anyone wanting to do it themselves.

    Seems like a decent price honestly. If I hadn't pieced my own together and ditched the over the axle portion I would be considering the borla.

    You could do what I did. I bought a Dynomax Ultraflow Weld muffler. 2.5” center inlet/2.5” dual outlet and stainless steel Dynomax tips. Took that to a custom muffler shop and they dumped the tips out back. I should have had them exit behind the the wheels though. The muffler is too expensive now! If I had to do it all over again I would have bought the same muffler configuration but I would have gone with a Flowmaster Super 44. The sound out of the Dynomax is deep and has gotten slightly louder over stock since the install, about a year ago, but I’d like more growl. I’ll probably change it out with the Super 44 in the near future.
