This makes me so freaking mad. Like you said, own the mistake, send a new bottle, and make things better. A partial refund is a slap in the face. This guy is so full of himself it's not even funny. What an arrogant ass he has been shown to be.
Like you, I have had to bite the bullet on a customers mistake in the past.(not nearly as serious or expensive as your bullet. I had a customer not refrigerate maple syrup I made and sold them, it went bad, I replaced it for free, ended up costing me about $75 but still) But I took a hit so I could retain them as a future customer and have positive feedback for myself. That's called good customer service.

When I searched dpc shield this was on this first page . I was looking to see what others thought about it. We should make a post on Reddit detailing also.

At least you have something you know will last now. Its sucks that the added expense cuts into your profit margins but doing it right costs more I guess. This guy flat out lies and is arrogant enough to not care one bit. I wonder if I can get in touch with the BBB about him, I know bashing him on the web will hurt his wallet quite a bit, maybe to the point he will start doing the right thing for people. We work hard for our money, at least I do and it sounds like you do too, no one deserves to be scammed out of money. Meanwhile he is profiting off a defective product.

Pretty sad story truth be told.
For me he could have avoided all of this by offering me even a partial refund (which is actually all I asked for originally) or maybe even some crappy replacement products. That would have been the high road. Instead he questioned my integrity and knowledge which I didn't like.

His private Facebook claims it was so popular he sold it all and is trying to catch up on backorders.

    I suspect this is deceit.

He hasn't proved himself to be truthful yet. I assume they will pull it or release a new formula. If it ever is back "in stock" it'll be different.....i hope so anyway. It really sucks how this guy turned out. I guess money talks for some, and clearly he doesn't care how he makes it, as long as he gets lots of it. He started off being objective and helpful, but things have clearly fallen apart and he's turned into a money hungry sell out

Soooooo I noticed a few more spots today that do not look promising. It is entirely possible that I didn't apply this correctly, but I followed directions and these different areas are becoming noticeable.
It is very hard to get a decent picture of the issue. Maybe I applied it too thick, didn't level it correctly, or missed my buff off time window. Whatever the cause, I can finding new areas every time I wash it.

It kinda looks like orange peel paint at first until you investigate further. You can see what appear to be small bubble that are raised up, lots of them like a peeling sunburn, or polyurethane on something left outside. The area I found today while drying is the trim panel below the drivers side headlight. It looks kinda white and flaky but I can't scrape it or flake it with a fingernail. itll have to be strip washed, clayed, polished. I worry that the crystalization of the coating could introduce some marring while using clay or polish. it already did during the application process and I have a feeling removal will be worse. Finger are crossed that it'll just wear off soon or will come off with a good strip wash.

The pics really don't show the problem, you can kind of see it on the very bottom of the 1st pic.

I seem to have watched a few of the chemical guys video's and when I had a leaked product in a order, them didn't ask any questions at all. I emailed a couple pictures and next email I got was that another bottle was in the mail. Seems like they have good video's and GOOD customer service.

I am not a chem guys fan at all. But I certainly can't knock them as far as the helpful videos they post, and they post a lot. And for the most part, as far as I can tell from posts like this and various reviews, their customer service is pretty solid.

Scott is in a league of his own when it comes to service. It's a shame he is such a sell out cuz he was once well respected and now he's far from it.

Nothing really since he posted that update a month or so ago saying he “sold out”.

I think this is aimed at you though.

Haha that's awesome. I wonder if he would be mad that after he took a bite of that reese's the rest of it turned rancid and couldn't be eaten. Would it still be worth the price of a reese's for one bite? When you could buy another brand and eat the whole candy bar? And what is reese's new catch phrase? "NOT SORRY" I think. Just like scott, not sorry he scammed hundreds of people.

Things are going from bad to worse with this coating. It is bubbling and starting to look terrible everywhere. It looks kinda like dry skin or a peeling sunburn in some spots. I am unable to get a good pic to show the issue.
It is not adhereing to the surface of the clear coat properly, even though I followed instructions perfectly and probably went above and beyond. I would imagine if you didn't level a coating properly it would look like this.....but not several months after application. It looked fine for a couple months but I have slowly been noticing bad spots, and they are becoming more frequent.
Also the more I look, the more scratches that I see that were definitely caused from applying this stuff, the scratches and swirls are under the coating and were likely caused by crystals that were formed in the bottle that I didn't notice til about a week after use.
I tried polishing this off with a black pad and some essence but it didn't get it done, its gonna take more aggressive polishing in the spring, but I'm thinking that the coating will be worn off by then anyway.

In order to remove a coating you need a very aggressive polish. Wool pad or MF pad with a high cut compound should do the trick. For this particular case I would be extremely cautious as the crystallized coating may start to flake off and get stuck on the pads, I would advice a very strict pad cleaning regimen when polishing this off.

Try getting some photos of the current state of the coating.

I will try to get pics tomorrow. I don't even wanna polish it at all. to be honest I hope it just wears away over the winter. But I also want to put something over it to protect the paint for the winter. I'm stuck in a bad spot because of this crap.
If I were to polish it off I would use carpro clear cut compound and wool pads, maybe yellow foam pads, but I fear exactly what you stated. It looks like polishing will cause more damage to the underlying paint cuz it's going to flake off. Ugh this sucks.
Maybe I should not add any protection and just let it wear off? I feel like whatever I do, is gonna be the wrong move.

It's looking like my best option unfortunately. Normally I would be getting ready for a pretty intending wash followed by hydro2 and reload before the snow flies, but I think I'll just do the wash and leave it as it is so it has a better chance to degrade the rest of the way and wear off. It's such a shitty product I bet it won't take long.

I don’t know if it will, but possibly Eraser can help it along?

It certainly won't hurt. If you saw it you would freak out. It looks like flaking polyurethaned wood in some areas. It sucks

Dammit. I certainly wouldn’t be able to tolerate that. I have water spots I need to get off that are driving me nuts.
I don’t think Eraser is going to take it off, but maybe it will weaken it enough to make removal easier. I’ll see if I can find any advice. If you try to polish it off, I’d use a bunch of pads and keep them as clean as possible.
I’m sure Corey w/ CarPro would have some good advice, you’d just have to open up by letting him know you didn’t use his stuff......

Just thinking. What if you try to use a heat gun? Since its flaking or peeling. Maybe get it soft and rub it off. I'm not a detail guru, just an idea.
