Are our leaf springs directional?

On 3rd gen Tundras, do the leaf springs have a front/ rear or can they be installed either way?
Other than the anti-axle wrap hook on the second leaf, of course.

 

The center pin is dead nuts in the middle? Aren’t the ends wrapped differently?

 

Looks like it to me, I measured both ends to the middle of both springs.

The second leaf wrap is in case the first leaf breaks, it will maintain axle position enough to maintain control of the vehicle.

The double wrap must always be at the fixed hanger, the forward end in the case of our Tundras.

Hard to tell with the plastic wrap, but I think the stars and stripes go to the front.

 

I’ve been under suspension a time or two.

 

Just checked with Alcan. Sticker end is at the shackle. They were closed yesterday when these were delivered so thought I’d ask y’all.
Got 9 leafs for the driver side, 8 on the passenger side. Should make up the difference from the big gas tank, battery and my fat ass.

 

I’ve managed to move the gas tank and battery to the right side on my Tacoma. Sits dead level now.
I can’t believe toyota hasn’t done anything about this after all these years. They can’t claim they don’t know that there’s more weight on the left than there is on the right.

 

seems like they could at least have the battery on the right side to attempt to make up for it. That would be an easy fix

 

I personally think moving the battery or the gas tank to the opposite side would be easy enough.
But hey, I’m no engineer.
