2011 Tundra SR5 xm radio?- my 1st Totoyta

Just bought a 2011 SR5 Tundra with the base radio. It has the "sat" but when pushed just changes to am. What do I need to get my xm radio subscription to work on my truck. First toyota so I'm lost.

If you don’t have an option on the screen that pops up for XM, then you don’t have the tuner necessary.

 

Or call XM to activate, you should have a code or identifier if equipped to do so.

 

Radio has a SAT button but only changes to am when pushed. What tuner are you referring to that I need? Thanks

 

You may have the button, but if the vehicle wasnt equipped with the XM package, you don’t have the tuner required to pick up the satellite. It’s easier to install a standard radio across the board for all trucks and just install the separate tuner for the XM equipped trucks. If you press SAT, and no option for XM shows, then you don’t have the XM tuner.
