6112s arrived

They go in tomorrow. I'll be back at my buddy's shop. I'll do the install, he'll do the alignment.

I've had mine I went from 5100s to 6112s about 2 weeks now and they are much better also 5160s and coachbuilder +2 I powder coated my coils red

 

You will love the 6112s. If you haven't thought about the rears, the 5160s are a perfect compliment.

I just picked up my truck on Wednesday after getting the 6112s up front and Auburn LSD in the rear. I put on the 5160s myself. The suspension is firmer but so much better than stock. You feel the bump, but its over. It just doesn't seem as amplified as it was with the stock shocks.

I'm also running TRD sway bars front and back. Unlike many here, I'm running the 6112s on the lowest setting because I mainly wanted a good upgrade from stock with minimal height increase. It looks by your pictures you will be running them at the bottom as well? It lifted the front end about 3/4 of an inch, and I'll let them settle while the Auburn is breaking in and go for an alignment after.

 

Yep, I ordered them on the bottom. I wanted a small lift and to make up for the 3/16" I lost with the ranch hand.

 

Is that powder coated ?

 

Yes had them done about 3 weeks ago

 

Installed. It went easy. Here's some advice. I disconnected both the upper ball joint and tie rod ends. It made it super easy to get the struts in and out. You can get away with just one but the extra minute it took to disconnect the other saved me 10 wrestling it. Also disconnect both abs/brake line brackets.

 

Installed. This is the .75" (lowest) setting in the front and stock rear.

After measurements. It looks like it lifted about an inch but I'm betting some settling will occur.

 

The ride is the same as factory or slightly better. I thought about just doing spacers but this was definitely the way to go.
