So why do they show the Toyota drivers wanting to pretend they are construction workers? Seems to imply that real construction workers don't drive Toyotas and are just posers.
And in the brochures the Toyota owners are prissy posers looking for someone to valet park their rig and the only use of the truck is picking up stuff at home desperate (except for pulling a trailer or boat)

    Have any commercial links?

Boy, that request is really gonna tax my limited technical skills but I'm going to try

The one that bugs me the most is when this dork drives onto a construction site and sets down with the working men eating lunch saying he wants to be one

It's all about whoever was working in advertising or whatever company they got to do their ads that year.

I didn't see anything bad with the 2015 brochure.
    http://cdn.dealereprocess.com/cdn/brochures/toyota/2015-tundra.pdf
    Other than maybe this panel:
    Screen Shot 2016-12-04 at 10.30.33 AM.jpg

However, having lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for years this is a pretty common sight in real life... though usually it's Platinum/King Ranch F-150s.

This one is pretty bad too. The implication is the truck is good for weekend warriors not really for daily work and the text includes the suggestion we should be trying to lmpress the lumber yard "boys". Can't imagine any add by the big 3 sending this message.

I remember those 2nd gen commercials. I'd like to see the data that supports the change to the current advertising.

If I was being persuaded by advertising and brochures I'd probably have bought a dodge maybe a chevy.
Because I can do research, read specifications, and reliability records there really was no option but the tundra.

Probably more of a case that those commercials cost a whole ton and they didn't see a high enough return out of them.
