And now that we've extolled the virtues of the GG6, Griots has replaced it in their lineup with the G9, at a very similar price point. Looks a lot like their BOSS line of long throw DAs, with a slightly more powerful motor than the GG6 (1000W), and a slightly larger throw (9mm).

You can maintain it pretty much the same way you would the paint on the rest of the vehicle. A couple of small exceptions. Copied from another site:

“After applying paint protection film on your car, you can wax it. However, make sure that the wax you will be using does not contain Kerosene or Naphtha in over 5% concentration. Also avoid waxes that come with dyes.”

Additionally, I’d avoid using wax around the edges. I’ve heard that it tends to get caught there and leave residue just under them that’s hard to get out.

How does feeder tyre stack up with trim?

Well, none of these can be used on tires, so there’s that. As for use on the plastics, in my opinion Trim Shield is far superior. Tyre Feeder is cheaper though, and does work well.

Trim Shield is like a sealant for the plastics, and keeps it from fading. It lasts several months before needing to be reapplied in my experience.

Is there a known method to remove these protective adhesive stickers without harming the paint underneath? I am not intent on making these areas to look brand new, but I would like them to look better.

Lol nope, she wishes though. She, like many 7 year old girls, us obsessed with horses and wants to get one. Maybe some day when I have my nice house with an old barn on a few acres. I think we are both dreaming on those possibilities though haha

I would try heating with a blow dryer first and see if they will peel off. You could also try a 3M eraser wheel or something like that. I used an off brand eraser wheel that I picked up from Amazon for about $10 to remove some stickers and old adhesives from my brothers truck, it worked much better than I anticipated. https://www.amazon.com/Rubber-Erase...=1568417442&s=gateway&sprefix=eraser+&sr=8-15
I used this one, there are a ton of options on amazon for these things and they actually work.

For now anyway, she's almost 8 so I figure I have a handful of good years left lol maybe less. I remember how my sister was from about 12 til about ummm 33 lol

I haven’t, but I’ve read a lot of really good things about it. It’s been on my list of things to look into at some point.

Still doesn't look super smooth. My wife's car has the hood like this. I'm very tempted to remove the vinyl, but I'm scared it'll look worse than it does now.

I don’t work for Milwaukee, but for a distributor that carries the brand.

Which ones are you looking at exactly?

I have the 0850 (compact) and the 0880 (wet/dry) at home. Not sure which one you mean by the dry vac.
The compact one is cool for small quick jobs, but it’ll take quite a while to vacuum your interior out.

The cordless wet/dry is pretty awesome. It’s what I use pretty much exclusively for vehicles, cleaning the bbq pit, etc. It’s not as powerful as my corded Shop Vac, but takes care of the majority of my needs, and I don’t have to drag a cord around.

If there’s a specific one you want to know about, their available models are here:

    https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Search#q=Vaccum

    Just let me know.

The 0880 is a really good vacuum. I use mine pretty regularly. I have them in stock, but could only save you about 10 bucks over Amazon. It would cost more than that to ship.

@SouthBoundSteve have you tried Gliss as a stand-alone paint protectant? I know it’s usually considered a topper for CQuartz, but out of curiosity I put some on one of my fenders a week or so ago. It looked great, and was really slick. What are your thoughts on using it by itself?

So, I got some of the CQuartz Lite. My plan is to do my daughters’ vehicles with it. The red Tundra needs a really good correction done, which I hope to do when they are home for thanksgiving week.
Would you recommend putting Gliss on top of that?

@driverdog played dirty and compared it to Beadmaker. Pretty much forced my hand on that one.

Wetcoat is the closest I’ve seen to a Hydro2 substitute.

I haven’t applied Beadmaker in quite a while actually. I’ve been using wax more than I have in the past. One thing I will say: It’s been raining like crazy the last couple of days. I’m getting decent beading with the Hydro2 / Signature Shine combo I currently have on there, but nowhere near the ridiculous hydrophobic properties I get with Beadmaker.

Maybe I’ll do a half and half and see how it compares. For some reason it’s going to take Adams two weeks to get me the product though. Perhaps they are sold out?

Also, since they’re marketing this as a “Mystery Product”, is this only going to be available temporarily, or am I reading something wrong?
