    I take those dyno graphs with a grain of salt.
    I’d hate to say they were lying, but I figure they gave you the worst pull of the truck for the baseline, and the best pull with the intake for the gains. That would explain the large margin.

    Then it doesn’t make sense that they would do a pull in third gear right? The only time I can recall seeing it done as if there wasn’t a true 1 to 1 gear to be had.

    I was looking at 3250 rpm, the useable rpm. Don’t really care about top rpm.

    Doesn't S4 or higher eventually shift out of 3rd where the torque converter is locked or has a chance to lock vs. keeping it in S-3?

    I guess if you are flooring it, it may never lock!

    Curious what's inside a TRD CAI besides a filter and some sensors? Is there a blower to force air or anything else that stock doesn't have?

    The box is slightly larger in the lid area. It also comes with an airflow accelerator, which is basically a slightly larger and different shaped tube that connects the box to the inner fender wall. And I think it comes with a smooth intake tube that gets rid of the sound deadener built into the stock intake tube. Whatever you call that thing LOL

    No blower, but it does use a different air accelerator. Stock is on the right. You can also buy this piece by itself without buying the whole intake kit.

    It sure is I candy though! And I would get some satisfaction knowing that it’s a Toyota part.

    Otherwise I do think the Afe super stock would be comparable alternative. It replaces that intake tube and filter. I already have the afe filter.

    I plan on adding the S&B system shown below when finances improve, fun budget is greatly reduced after Dirty Deeds exhaust group buy... but the S&B has been tested (not on a Tundra) for air flow VS particulate capture, and blew K&K out of the water. As a service center manager, I have seen engine "dusting" or dirt making its way thru the K&N systems way more than I care to see. Pull an intake tube after a year of running K&N and usually you will find dust and dirt built up in the bottom of the intake pipe. I don't work for either company, just what I have experience with and what I will be installing. AFE seems good too in the diesel truck world, good filtration with air flow.
