I went and drove a TRD Pro.......

If they'd put a nice V8 back in the 4Runner, I think Id own one.

It's was hard to walk away from this one. Struggling with want to go back....

The vehicle Ive ever missed in my life was a 78 Bronco with 35x12.5s. 8 mpg wide open.... 8.5 mpg driving Miss Daisy.

It reminded me so much of my old Bronco.

Help! I love my truck. In fact, just ordered brakes and new struts for her.....

    The 4Runner had a V8 a few years ago, 4th Gen - 2003 - 2009.

My wife wants to trade her van for a 4Runner. We don't need the room of the van so it is wasted space really.

I love 4Runners. If I had to give up my 1st Gen, I'd probably be looking at a 4Runner

I would get a 4Runner, it’s the best off-road vehicle Toyota has in my opinion. Yes I wanted the landcruiser but from an off-road perspective it’s too big, the tacoma is not as solid as the 4Runner. The 4Runner is the perfect size, as far as off-roading is concerned, it’s made in Japan as well so it’s built better. You can probably get a good deal since the 2020 models are coming out soon. I might buy one as an off-road toy and keep my tundra to tow it.

Well hell! I think I just talked myself into a 4Runner. It might be just the right size for me. I’m a tiny tiny man, and I look like a little kid in the tundra

It's all about finding the balance that works for you. As long as you are realistic about what a Tundra or a 4Runner is, and you are honest about what you want... You can't really go wrong with either.

The 2019 4runner TRD Pro is freaking awesome! I assume the 2020 is as well. I was very disappointed when my wife changed her mind and decided to replace her wrecked 4Runner Limited with a Lexus IS sedan instead of the 4Runner TRD Pro as she originally planned.

    I say go for it!

We have had a 2008, 2014, and 2017 4Runner. We enjoyed them all and I still think they’re the best vehicle toyota makes. The ‘17 was a Pro. But it was white (which my wife wanted), not gray (what I wanted). So when she decided she preferred the Tundra we have, the 4R was replaced by a 440i.

The 4R is great, and does everything well. Just didn’t give me wood. Although I did consider the aftermarket supercharger which would have eliminated my hp issue. But it still would have been the wrong color.

I do recommend it, especially the Pro version. Soft and smooth.

What are you using the vehicle for? If you don't need the bed from the Tundra, then I'd say go 4Runner if that's what you want!
    I came from a 3rd gen 4Runner

I was actually shopping a 4Runner and planned to get one before I picked up the Tundra. From my research, I found that I would rather have the TRD Off Road Premium with the KDSS over the PRO. The PRO charges a premium for cosmetic bits that you can easily add later, and a suspension that is frequently replaced if you are truly going to go off road. I just couldn't justify the price when I could match or surpass the performance AND get that KDSS.

I was looking at the website last night. Help me out here. Aside from suspension and some cosmetic differences, what is different from the TRD offroad premium to the TRD pro? I think both have a rear locker right?

Yes only difference is the badging, the wheels, it says pro on the seats and the pro has the fox suspension, also the TRD skid plate other than that everything else is the same.

They do, it's called the GX460. My wife wanted a 4Runner, then drove the GX. Game over, it will be her next vehicle. Although she said I need to install a small lift, TRD Pro wheels, and 33's.

I’m trying to talk my wife into getting a new 2020 GX 460 as it’s full time 4wd system makes me feel comfortable if she gets into bad weather, winter conditions, of just go off-road if the pavement gets backed up. But I think she wants the new RX350.

And the off road premium has Bilstein suspension? Both have the crawl control I think.

Except you can't get the KDSS on the Pro. That was a deal breaker for me, but I didn't want to spend that much anyway.

The front end of the 4Runner is ugly.

    Does that help?? :)
