Thinking of a JL Audio Stealthbox, does the seat back move?

so I was looking at installing a JL Audio Stealthbox behind the back seat. I have a crewmax and the JL audio website says the seat back is adjustable. Is this the case, if so how does it work? If it doesn't has anyone ever removed it for a sub install. Have there been any issues installing a sub when keeping the factory head unit? Thanks in advance.

 

Unfortunately, in the 2014's the back seat in a crewmax does not adjust for a subwoofer box so we're kind of limited on what we can put back there. I found a box for two 10's that fits perfect and is well made. http://www.foxacoustics.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=TCM-210-14-V

In order to get the box in you have to remove the rear seats completely and find a new home for your spare tire tools. I also bent down a bracket that held in the spare tire tools so it would sit more flat. I'm still in the process of installing the full system but I'll post it to my build thread when I'm done.

I think that's a great box and use of space! It's no good for anything else.

 

I think I'm going to have to get one of those boxes for a couple 10's in my crewmax. I always have removed stock stereos in my previous truck and gone all Alpine, but with the Entune+ in the new truck w/bluetooth,nav,etc I dont really want to swap all that out. Adding in some bass would probably be enough to make the stereo sound pretty decent.

 

Added a duel 10" sealed box, Fosgate shallow mount and an amp.

 

Looks good. How did.you get the signal.to your amp? Line output converter or something more high tech? Also what size amp are you using to power that sub? Thanks.

 

Yes, Line output converter. Used the wires from where the factory amps was. There are 2 10" subs getting 716 watts to the pair from a Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000X5

I have the stealthbox and love it. It is definitely more money but the fit is perfect. I also really like how it bolts to the existing seat mounts... very important if you plan on any high speeds off-road.

Well worth it IMO. I am under powering the subs and sounds great. If you want a lot of bass, it can handle around 800 RMS. Make sure to dynamat!

I have the stealthbox powered by a JL HD 750.1. The amp is making about 810 watts at full power. The subs sound great.

The 2005 Tundra I owned had a JL stealthbox too. Except it had one sub in it, this one has two. Both are worth the money IMO.

 

Mine is run by 900.5 and sounds great

 

I would put a 1000x1 JL amp for the stealth. Box. That’s what I’m running for my 2 JL 10s in a regular box and they hit hard

 

Ive been looking at the JL Stealth box, how do you like it? My goal is to add subs/amp and keep the rest stock.
