Hey guys I put together a video review of my trip to the Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. I make stuff like this to easily share stuff with the family and to keep for easy viewing in a few years. Thought I'd share here too. Ill just post the video up top here, and then I will likely ramble on below and write about the experience to give others some--hopefully--useful advise or tips.

That’s totally awesome of you to help them out. Hate to say it but doesn't surprise me that people don’t take any warning seriously.

Yeah I let the Ranger know we got them out and she seemed to suggest, with a smile, that maybe we should have let them sweat it out a bit longer. She said she told them specifically to stick to the paved roads that day, due to recent rains.

We left Monday at 10am and stayed in Marathon the first night. Went into the Bend early Tuesday morning, left out on Friday morning due to poor weather (we were going to stay Friday night as well but did not.)

Awesome video. The trails looked amazing and it's cool to see the functionality of your truck put to use. Great build.

Funny how things work out, because to those folks in the RV, you were lead their way on purpose. I'm sure it made the trip even more memorable.

Question, on the dirt road at the end, are the plateaus in the road built on purpose?

Very cool video! Heading to Big Bend in 2 weeks for 3 nights. That over-the-bed tent looks awesome. We plan on just setting up traditionally on the ground with our tents. Anything you suggest to bring that you didn't have? Or items that were more important than others?

@Bakelite I'm also hoping to put a trip together out there in November or December. Hope you have a great time, and let us know about your experience after you go.

I guess I missed this post when it first came out in May. Great video! I’ve only been to Big Bend once a few years ago. My son and I did the easy trails. We loved it and want to go back.

By the way, what kind of bumper, winch and sliders do you have?

Yeah, I thought that part of the video was funny when the girls were jumping up and down with joy after he winched them out. I also liked the arm waving photo by the warning sign - lol.

I'm looking at late November. Heck, we might even cross paths, I'll have to keep an eye out for fellow Tundras.

That would be funny. As we narrow things down I can definitely let you know the exact dates we will be going. Still working on my destination wedding in late October ha.
