    New to forum and neede some advise on sound system. I just bought an 07 LTD Crew Max with Navigation JBL system and noticed all speakers have been swapped except for the two on the dash. I really dont like how it sounds because the two in the dash sound alot louder than the rest of the speakers. Any suggestions would swapping the dash speakers fix my issue.

    I left the dash speakers in but did now wire them in. Now I just have the 4 door speakers and a sub. It sounds good like that. Unfortunately the sound stage in our trucks is a little awkward. Do you have door sails with tweeters?

    I doubt the stock amp will be strong enough to really power good speakers. It may though. Does the alpine amp have inputs for other than rca's? If so, you wont have to use a line converter. Im not sure how your speakers are wired after the stock amp. Mine was not jbl. However im pretty sure the sails, door speakers and dash are all run parallel.

    Yeah, new head unit, four door speakers and using existing stock head unit will make a huge difference. For the door speakers, the easiest to fit would be alpine slim mount 6x9s and 6.5s in the rear. Or you could do it the hard way like me. :homer:

    There is a guy on the TT forums that makes mounts for the doors so they fit perfect. I'll check out the forums in the AM and post a link here tomorrow.

    Nice setup!

    Mine has the factory 6 disc changer but the knobs do not function. The volume is stuck on 19.
    I've been using the aux jack and controlling the phone's output volume and just playing pandora/mp3's.
    Can't do a stereo upgrade anytime soon and I'm having no luck finding used ones locally so far.
    Does anyone near me have a stock head unit that I can acquire?

    Sometimes when I've got my windows down I'm surprised how loud my exhaust is. It's just a low rumble with the cab sealed up.

    It's one 12 and I got the one that handles more power and a 300 watt amp to it. For space I love it. It hits hard and takes up almost no room. If I was doing it over I would have got two shallow mount 10's and a bigger amp. Larger than 10s lacks the punchiness I like and had more of a boom. But overall I'm pretty happy with it and I'll probably keep it that way.

    I finally moved my Bluetooth mic into the stock position tonight. It wasn't too hard. I do wish there was adapter to use the stock mic with aftermarket radios. But the one that comes with the kenwood that I bought actually works really well. You can adjust different settings for that mic and tune it. Anyway, I'm finally done with that. Next will be the front camera with the camera switch I bought. That will complete my sound system upgrade..... Unless.... I decide to buy a digital antenna for live tv on the head unit. I bought two RCA cable packs and installed them to where they are tucked in the dash. I did that in case I wanted the live tv, game system or screen for the overhead console. Not sure if I will but I've got the option too. Taking extended road trips was what I had in mind.

    Nice setup. I am planning a upgrade to my stock stereo in my 2015 SR5. The truck has the Entune premium head unit that I plan on keeping. Under the passenger front seat is the factory amp. Did you keep the amp in line with the LC7i or dod you remove it. I spoke to Crutchfield and they told me to keep it in. But from the threads I have read on here the other guys took it out. Just looking for more feed back before I start the project. Thanks

    Mine didn't have a factory amp. It just depends how much power the amp you are putting in has. Some keep what they have some don't, but that factory amp might be wired up with the Bluetooth mic somehow. If I had your truck, I'd find a way to keep it wired.

    Has anyone ever heard of or bought a sub box from subthump.com? They make a slim box and tested there box with 12 inch slim pioneer subs like the one I have in my set up. Their website says you only losee 1-2 clicks in the rear seat. I've been thinking I would add a sub to my set up. I never move the seats back there and figured I'd utilize all of the space behind the seat. If I do I will probably put my single box up for sale. if anyone knows anything about this company I'd like to hear it. My current box is really well made and glassed inside the box for added strength so I'm wanting something made as well as the one I have. Here is the link. LooKS pretty nice
