With the same 18inch rim? Why would you want to do that?

You have a 32" tire (32.1" to be exact). What are you trying to accomplish? Thinner? Shorter height?

Downsizing tires may only get you an inch or so. Much cheaper and probably better than changing stock tire sizes to get side steps/running boards...

My little ones and my dogs have no problem getting in with these on. Drop some money on boards instead of tires, you'll be much happier.
Also, if you want a little more clearance for a camping trip you can pull them off pretty easily. Can't do that with smaller tires

Just the rear, the front in stock.
The tires dropped the whole truck.

255s are kinda skinny on a truck with heavy curb weight, that said I had 255s on my Tacoma and I loved them. They were great in the snow.
Since you're 2wd, you should be able to lower your truck a couple inches pretty easily and inexpensively. I'd look into that then tires. Lowered tundras look so bad ass in my opinion.

Gotcha, that's challenging for sure. Rex's truck looks pretty nice. Maybe lowering the back to level and putting on 31's would do the trick

I don't know that a tire change would be your best value option. Keep in mind you'd have to go with a tire that's 2 full inches shorter to gain one inch of access. Aside from getting some comically small wheels, maybe cabin adjustable air bags?

You shouldn't 'need' to lower your trucks rear suspension, especially if you have a longer wheel base. I lowered mine for improved handling, and to level the trucks stance. My 82 year old mom appreciates the reduced height, and the steps.

The tires on your truck right now are 32", switching to 31" will lower the truck a bit all the way around.

Michelin has a few offerings in smaller sizes like 235/55R18 and 235/65R18. These would be in the neighborhood of 28.4" tall according to the Michelin website. That should make a noticeable difference coming from a 32" tall tire.

I'm considering getting snow tires in this size for the winter.

New member wautaush1968 thank y'all. The tire size calculator was enlightening. Will start with 31" tire. Although I am curious about the cost of lowering it

Indeed it is, and the smaller tires make the 4.30 gear perform like it has a 4.55 gear.
