The rep I talked to said he has a gg6 and tried this one out and there was noticeably less vibration and it's a pound lighter and seemed easier to handle and adjust turn on and off. He also said it looks way cooler lol, love the honesty. The reason for the quick release cord is that 90% of their warranty claims are from the cords going bad at the attachment point from people wrapping them too tight for storage causing the wires to fray internally. The added the power and correction abilities due to 1mm more throw seemed the same and a far cry from a long throw, but he also admitted he's no expert detailer. He also said that changing the brushes out is MUCH easier and quicker on the G9 because you only need to take out 2 screws to access the "brush door" rather than pretty much detach the head from the handle.
Overall between the looks and smoother operation he said he will likely trade his in, but he gets a better deal than us.
The rep was really nice and honest. Yet another great experience with a detailing company's customer service, a breath of fresh air after my DPC fiasco. I'll take every dig I can at DPC for as long as he's still around lol.

I’ve had few interactions with Griot’s, but from what I hear they’re another top notch company in the industry. I get their catalog every month and it’s cool to look through. Feels like the old days.
Maybe we can cost DPC as much money as we’ve made for the other guys....

I was thinking of subscribing to griots catalog myself. I like looking thru stuff like that now and then. They are a great company, I have used quite a bit of their stuff and plan to use some of their boss line of compounds and polishes soon

Agree. Griots has outstanding customer service, they've been very helpful, even when I've needed a replacement pad in short notice, due to an upcoming correction job I had, they were kind enough to send the pads 2nd day air for no extra charge.

I've also used the BOSS liquids and they are great, very easy to wipe off and almost no dust.

@Pudge you are right, the detachable cord on the G9 is a mayor plus in my book, as my BOSS G21 flexes more than I'd like, when I put back on the carrying case. However after 4 years of using and storing it in the same case, the cord is holding strong with no signs of braking or fatigue.

I can't wait to see your results with your GG6. Try the megs ultimate polish on an orange pad first. The polish has diminishing abrasives so it stays well lubricated and long working time. With an orange pad and the megs ultimate you should be able to eliminate most swirls, but also leave the paint last step ready. If you're left with holograms or polishing marring, switch over to the black pad and go over the areas again with light pressure and it should be flawless.
