So I was trying to figure out how long the shipping will take because they haven't sent me the tracking info yet.......so I messaged them wondering whatsup and they said it's about 10-15 business days testing the product and 2-4 for shipping

Wtf lol I paid for Express shipping and still will take almost three weeks

 

I bought/paid for express shipping and on July 20th and it arrived July 30th(Fort Worth, TX). They don't update the tracking on the site very well. Once you get the DHL email/tracking info you'll know for sure.

Thanks! I took it apart, high grit sandpaper, and plastic paint, Rustoleum Flat Black Primer, same stuff I used on the vent rings and steering wheel control covers.

Yes a few screws, no prying or anything difficult. Do a few coats, the first few light net coats. Mist all coats from a distance.

Hello new friends,

I just bought a beautiful black 2019 tundra limited. I went on aliexpress and purchased one of these 12.1 screens. It does not have the physical knobs for ac. It only has the hazards and the airbag on the bezel. The hazard button is a button and the airbag is a light up.

I tried to install it yesterday and everything was going great until I plugged in the hvac cord. The hazard blinkers came on and would not turn off. The ac was not working. I tried turning it to Toyota Hi and there was even Toyota Hihi. No settings worked and I could not get the ac to adjust. Nothing I tried would get the hazards to turn off.

I’ve asked for a return on aliexpress but the seller is saying I installed it wrong even though I took pictures and a video. He keeps sending me pictures of other units and other operating screens. No hkep.

Any ideas? Anyone else put one in a 2019? Did i somehow miss something. It was all plug and play. This unit even has an hdmi which I haven’t read any of you talking about yet.

Where you set it to Tundra Hi, make sure the protocol is BNR withAir. If it already is, change it to default, reboot, then change back to BNR wit Air and reboot. If it isn't, change it to BNR with Air. Reboot. It sometimes gets confused initially.

 

Add yourself to this Facebook group. Some techy people in there can definitely help ya out. These things take some tweeking to the settings, but once you get it.... They are great.

 

Just purchased the tesla style head unit .... having some sound and a/c issues.... ac controls dont work and sounds is not as good. I dont have the option to select tundra. It's the newest head unit they make... anything helps thanks

 

I'm kinda out of date with a 2nd gen , best thing to do would be check with Facebook group.

 

+1 PX6 version is fairly new, doesn’t have all the kinks worked out like the previous ones we most have here. You’ll get more owners to answer questions on fb, and fairly quickly.

 

Still contemplating on getting this for my 2nd Gen tundra.

Does the tomtom work with music in background?

 

Not sure, I play downloaded YouTube vids off USB sticks and that works in the background of TomTom. The vids auto start when I turn the truck on.

Just picked up a 2019 Tundra TRD Sport and saw the badass big screen. Imagine watching adult flick with the windows down and passing cars hearing the action. "classic" ahahah.

Sergey Kozlov over on the FB page makes custom Firmware for this unit and it is amazing. I decided to to get it and I am happy I did. The issue I was having was dropping bluetooth and I didn't like that Spotify wouldn't open as soon as I turned the truck on. But with this firmware that is all good. He has so many options and his customer service is amazing.

Can you install these on a SR5 with manual climate controls? Just need touch screen but want to keep manual climate controls.

 

I belive you can if they are still making the first generation head units, they did have the three knobs on the bottom.

 

I know Phoenix has some for sale, the Gen 1 units (Android 7.1 Fastboot) with the A/C manual/Auto control knobs at the bottom. It will work with the SR5, I had it on my 2014 SR5 for a few months and had no issues. I ended up switching to the Gen 2 units because i missed my 3D printed switch panel under the radio. They take some patience getting use to, if your tech guy then it shouldn't be an issue. I figured out most of my issues on my own.
