Looking at a used 3rd gen: 2018 TSS Off Road SR5 CM FFV 5.7

Good morning! Looking at a 2018 SR5 CrewMax with:
• FFV 5.7L
• TSS off road package (which is just bed decals, tires, and wheels, correct?)
• 11k miles.

Dealer wants 38k which CarGurus says is a good deal at 1900 below market.

Their ad says it has the 38 gallon tank, but when I go to the Toyota VIN Search and enter the VIN, there's no mention of it among all the details and options listed.

What do you experienced Tundra gents (and ladies) think of this? I have some time today to go check it out. Crossing my fingers there's no leaks under the hood or at the rear axle.

And the 38 gal tank is great on long trips, but sucks watching the pump when filling up.

It sounds like probably a pretty good deal- 11k is low miles. I’m unfamiliar with a TSS Offroad, but I bought a 2018 SR5 with the TRD Offroad package and the SR5 upgrades. Here’s what they got me:

 

Most likely has the SR5 upgrade pkg which includes the larger tank. TSS pkg also includes all weather floor mats and steps which I told dealer to exclude on mine. Don't confuse the TRD OR pkg with TSS. They are not the same. Reason I went with the TSS is the tires

 

I'm in middle TN. I think the TSS off road package is crap compared to the TRD. It's a gulf coast thing from what I understand. Steps, bed decals, tires & wheels I believe. What was your OTD price if you don't mind me asking?

 

A lot of people think the TRD OR is crap too. I don't like the 20s but I got it for the bfgs. I basically traded the bfgs for 2 skid plates since I paid the same price as the TRD OR. Front shocks were coming off any.

 

Have you checked new prices for same package? New May be real close with better financing......

 

Yeah, I think it's lame that it doesn't come with a rear locker. Every other full-size has a rear locker whether it's selectable or automatic.

Yeah, the more I look around, the more I think I might as well go new.

 

That is what I did on first Tacoma when the sales dudes started whining about what they paid for the used one I was bidding on. As far as the locker goes it sucks that Tacomas have it an Tundras don't not to mention the big 3. I used it rarely on my Tacoma only because you had to be in 4 lo. There was ok nece that I thought I really needed it. I was in a muddy ditch with the driver side to the bottom of door in mud. Put it in lo engaged locker and hit the gas. I was surprised the Tacoma came out of that hole. I don't think many other trucks would have.

 

I believe it was around $38950.

 

I’m looking at a TSS off Road Double cab. It’s got 26K miles and they are asking $31K and change. I’m not thrilled about the 20 inch wheels, but they do look good. It’s a silver truck, chrome bumpers and grill, and trim, chrome step rail and chrome or polished wheels.

 

I’m an old guy, I like chrome
