I've been looking at the Go Fast Campers for my Pro and was wondering if anyone had one and what their thoughts are on it. They look awesome and decently priced compared to a full out off grid trailer. They must be quite popular because I noticed that if you place an order for one now, they won't start on it til August 2020.

I do have one on order. My anticipated build date is 6/2020. I have a good friend who has one on his Tundra and he loves it. Seeing in person it is definitely well thought out and stout.

I'm conflicted. It's still a new-ish product, and they continue to make improvements/modifications/upgrades to the campers based on customer feedback. On one hand I'd certainly like it sooner than later, but I know the longer I wait the better product I will eventually get. It does help having a Tepui RTT to hold me over until then.

I've read all 468 pages of the Tacomaworld GFC thread which is where most of their updates are published and owners discuss the GFC - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hondo-garages-new-thing.516490/

They are also in the design phase of making just a topper without the tent for people who have a RTT but want a rigid topper that can handle going off road and lightweight. I only know this cause I asked for myself and that’s the answer they gave me. They also said that they would have to do complete their orders on the campers first before building a topper only version.

I suggested that to them 8 months ago...glad to see they are finally doing it. Without a significant staff/manufacturing investment they aren't going to complete (catch up on) their camper orders - the lead times just get longer and longer.

I know. It’s saying they can’t start working on a camper now until February 2021. So I’m not going to hold my breathe. Hopefully some other companies get in the game.

Dang that sucks. I'll move to Montana and help out. Although, I know nothing about fabricating. Cant be that hard with machines doing most of the work nowadays.
Maybe I'll just buy one of those off road tear drops. Or a Black Series HQ15....those things are bad ass.

I placed my order back in July. At the time they showed a build date for December 2020. I got an email saying they are anticipating being ahed of schedule so we will see if that moves up. Either way I will be planning a cross country trip from NC to MT to have it installed.

Nuthouse has a few options like this. I really don’t like their pictures on their site so I may reach out and see if they have others. I saw their slide in person, that thing was really high quality.

Not sure if folks are still interested, but I just picked up my GFC this past weekend. I have two nights in it so far and although its expensive, I now see why....and don't regret it. It's far better than my rooftop tent I had IMO, but its still a luxury over that setup which was functional. The build quality is very good, so thats why I can understand the price point.

The purchase was worth it to me, but I will agree its really expensive and you have to be committed to it. Here she is with the GFC though.

How long was the build time once it went "In Production Notified?" I am wondering how much quicker GFC is now with theor new system.

just a note, if you buy a new 2020 Tundra it won’t fit, it hits the fin on them.

I got this back when I asked about it considering I have a 2020.
The camper will be about 1-2” higher over the cab to clear the fin. The fin can’t be removed or modified like the 4Runner is my understanding. GFC is on it and has already tested the camper on a 2020 model so we should be good to go. I’m thinking we will probably sit at the same as the Gen 3 Tacoma’s. If you look at some of the Tundra GFC vs Tacoma it appears Tacoma sits a couple inches higher over cab.
