    Yeah, really sad for those folks. The video that one guy posted of his home with 20’ of water hitting his windows was nuts.

    I don't think I ever saw one just sit there, seen it happen once they make landfall, what was the one that parked over S. GA, another did it to Eastern NC.

    Meanwhile, off the coast of Africa:

    An area of low pressure located a few hundred miles west of the
    Cabo Verde Islands continues to become better defined. The
    associated thunderstorm activity has been increasing, and a tropical
    depression is expected to form later today while the system moves
    generally northwestward across the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean.
    * Formation chance through 48 hours...high...90 percent.
    * Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.

    Remember this forecast whenever you see a long range forecast, especially when it tells you what's going to happen 12 years in the future.

    The eye is trying to reform and tighten up, but I still think it's not
    going to make landfall on any part of Americas eastern shoreline.

    None of that is going on here. Everyone is so pissed that it didn't show up. All the stress, time and preparation and it no-shows. Now no one is going to evacuate next time.

    I blame the non-stop media hype on this, and it will get people killed when one of these big storms comes straight in again.

    It honestly was too much. I'm being serious when I say people are pissed. We were told to prepare for the apocalypse. Then it ends up walking WORLDS away from their initial forecast? Of course we don't trust you anymore.

    I sympathize with the Bahamians though. They did get hit very hard and will take many years to rebuild what once was.

    It's going to take that so that people have faith in the system again. If the boy keeps crying wolf and the wolves never come, no one cares. It will take the wolves coming and eating the flock for people to care again. Then the boy will cry wolf again when there are none and the cycle will continue.

    Everyone who experienced this should look at this event (which is not over yet) in a positive way:

    1. There was no loss of life or property and if so, it would have been devastating for all not to mention what effect it would have on life and property insurance

    2. Accept the fact that Meteorologist do the very best they can and understand that not all things are predictable and that it is up to all of us to be prepared for the unpredictable

    3. This has now become a training event for your family and we are now (as a family) better prepared as we have earned from this event what actions and necessities will be needed next time

    4. We are all safe and we feel blessed to have been spared trauma that could have been otherwise

    5. Life is good

    Beats Matthew a few years ago. Was supposed to turn right and didn't. Caught many around here by surprise

    Like everybody before them prepared for the same, but I don't think they will get more than a glancing blow as this storm accelerates past them.

    WTF is this amazing troll site? I've never seen it before. They need up up their game with some fake citations to some mildly faked publications. The lack of citations and the author being "David" isn't very convincing.
