So after the celing fan failure this weekend the electrician is here.......
Neither fan was hung properly, no boxes installed, nailed to just a 2x4 shoved up in the hole. He was surprised that they have lasted almost 5 years like that. Top it all off the breaker didnt trip and there was a wire in the attic that had sparked, it was a good thing I was here and shut everything off or it would have caused a fire. Then out to the panel box we go where there were things tied in where they should have been and wrong size breakers for the ac and other appliances....WTF??!!
So off I went to home depot to get 2 new celing fans as the wiring damage to the ones up there he said he wouldnt want to try to rewire nor would the company guarantee the work...UGH!
Breathe...just breathe...
Ya I'm going to need to start drinking soon! Lol

 

That's not cool. Sorry to hear. Hate finding half-assed repairs/work on my house. Very frustrating, especially if it was done right the first time I wouldn't be having an issue.

Ya I'm glad I was here and not away for the holiday weekend! This just blows...he cant even get the second one down without taking the whole thing apart and cutting all the wires because of how it's in there.....I seriously want to cry at this point...

 

And to add insult to injury I think I broke my toes/foot on Saturday after all this and being on it all day today is killing me...FML right now! Lol
