So, I live in coastal Georgia and with hurricane Dorian bearing down I’m prepping for it

    Last hurricane(Matthew)
We lost power and water for 6 days. Learned a lot about prepping on that ordeal

So the tundra fuel tank is topped off and I have 25 gallons gas on hand for generator.

Suppose I wanted to use gas from tundra for generator?
    Any ways to safety remove?

Would be cool to have that much extra fuel reserve for generator

Keep in mind, OP- you may need that fuel if you need to travel in your vehicle to avoid a certain area, move around debris, safer locations, etc.

Thought there would be screen to prevent siphoning hose from reaching tank?

Yup. Siphoning hose can be your best friend in times of need. In Georgia we call a siphon hose a "Georgia credit card". ;)

    Nope.

There is a screen in the fill tube of all Toyota vehicles. No way to snake a siphon tube to the gas in the tank.

With that said, if a tree falls on your tundra, you can punch a hole in the tank with a center punch. Drain the tank into a low gas can. Keep a golf tee handy to plug the hole as you change gas cans...

Trucks not gonna do you much good with a tree across the cab. Might as well use the gas in the thing.

Hopefully you wont have to worry about any of that. I live in Panama City, and rode out Hurricane Michael last year. Will never do that again if I can help it.

I pump fuel out of tanks by disconnecting the fuel hose and turning the fuel pump on. (You need a scan tool for this though)

The filler neck screen will be laying in the bottom of tank if I need the gas.
Another option is to energize the fuel pump at the fuse block, connect a hose directly to the fuel rail and let the pump do the work for you.

A generator will run for quite awhile on 25 gallons. I'd keep my Tundra prepped for a mad dash if needed. Don't ride out this storm unless it's absolutely necessary. It's an absolute beast. Best of luck. We're with you.
